I only just noticed "ft. Catherine Zeta-Jones' butt" in the video title. 🤣 Like it was a guest star. Maybe it should've won Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards that year.

Heist films which I recommend: "The Thomas Crown Affair" both the 1968 original and the 1999 remake both are excellent, "The Anderson Tapes" 1971 Sean Connery, "Confidence" 2003, "Taking of Pelham 123" 1974, "Now You See Me" 2013, "Out of Sight" 1998, "Jackie Brown" 1997 Tarantino, "Thief" 1981. There are many more but these are good ones to continue with, Jen.

"Soup to Nuts" is a reference to a multi-course dinner...soup being the first course, and nuts being the last, so something that is "soups to nuts" is complete and thorough.

I watched this in the theaters back in 1999. In 2001, I actually lived in Malaysia for a little while. I even got to see the Petronas Towers near the end of my trip, which was a nice treat. I wish I could show photos/videos, but digital cameras weren't readily available to me back then.

"Soup to Nuts" is a reference to Roman banquets, which always started with a soup course and ended with fruits and nuts. That's why it means "the whole thing."

There’s a really cute and sweet movie with Catherine Zeta Jones and Tom Hanks called “The Terminal “! Toms character lands at the airport just as his country is over thrown and he’s stuck in the airport and he runs into Catherine who’s a stewardess and a bunch of cute side characters including Stanley Tucci!!!!

The first brainstorm session of this movie was basically "Catherine Zeta-Jones in a tight bodysuit" on a whiteboard. Then they had to craft an entire story around that.

That thumbnail, or it might have been a trailer actually, is the only reason I watched this movie back in the days. o.O

Lasers are invisible (this movie got that right), anything that makes them visible will set off the alarm. The worst offender is one of the Ocean's movies where the lasers are both visible and moving; not how security lasers work :p

I remember the hype surrounding the movie here in Malaysia back when it was coming out. Everyone was excited to see the movie set in Kuala Lumpur. Though there was abit of controversy when they show the establishing shot with them on the boat because that water village is from another State altogether and is not representative of KL at all.

Yup, Zeta Jones slinking through those lasers was the shot in the trailer that got everyone's attention. That fact that it also had Connery told me this would be a fun watch, and indeed it was.

Seeing this movie in a theater was a fantastic experienced. I am afraid of heights just as you, a pretty smart girl. I was having physical reactions to the movie, I was having pain in bottom of my feet and it shot up through my whole legs and I actually flinched hard! Didn't smoke but I should have. Better not, I would really trip out on the high wire scene .

You’re definitely my favourite reactor for heist movies because you are so into them, I’d forgotten about this one, really enjoyed it.

I have a couple heist movies to recommend. 1. The Italian Job And 2. Money Train. Both very enjoyable heisting.

Such a heist classic in hindsight. Simple but well executed. You might also want to check out "The Score" with Robert De Niro and Ed Norton.

Add THIEF to your heist list, James Caan, Jim Balushi. Michael Mann's directorial debut. Cool old school tech. Also, The Score with Edward Norton, Robert Deniro & Marlon Brando, and of course The Italian Job...HUGE ensemble cast!!

While it's no "Oceans 11", this is a terribly underrated heist movie 😁

Such a fun heist movie. Especially for the boys...and the ladies of a certain persuasion. Also Ving Rhames, "I think she's a 6 but would mighty fine in a 4" (Or something to that effect)

One thing missing from this movie, they should have had him order a vodka martini, shaken not stirred (Bond's drink). 🙂

Sir Sean Connery at this point of his near 'half a century' career. This was the first of his last 4 movies and also as producer. Catherine Zeta-Jones aka Miss Michael Douglas in one of 2 films for 1999. I think it's only fair that when we see Connery in a movie like this, he's gonna be a kinda 'Bond'. It's still part of his shine as an actor and paired up with someone like CZJ, you know it's gonna be some kinda hot. Definitely a 'new age' take on heist films with the tactics, tools, techniques, people (partner/enemy) and knowing what's to be taken for the right price. Very stylish for the genre. Like a well-tuned Swiss watch changing time zones on the tick. The plot at times leads and misleads which is good too. These action sequences are extreme fun without being violent. I saw this near the end of my senior year in high school after my final exams on opening weekend. It was just like watching Sean in 007 mode again and like i said, unavoidable. CZJ has got it all going on in this. You really can't keep your eyes off her. The song by Seal, "Lost My Faith" is a good ballad and Connery & CZJ appeared in the music video.

The phrase "soup to nuts" means "the whole thing", referring to a seven course dinner, from the first course (soup) to the last (nuts) Thibadeaux was played by Ving Rhames, who played Marcellus in Pulp Fiction. A couple other heist films worth checking out are The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) and Tower Heist (2011) Another movie I'd love to see a reaction to is Out of Sight (1998), with George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. Not a heist movie, just a great film.

Good, underrated movie, but all of it was basically a practice run for Cathy's role in the Ocean's movies.

I’m with you on the acrophobia, Jen. I didn’t find out that I was incredibly afraid of heights until high school. My school typically went to Kings Island amusement park at the beginning of the summer for the day. They have a 1/3 replica of The Eiffel Tower, and my friend and I were going to go up the stairs to the 50-foot high platform. I made it to about 1/4 of the way up when I totally froze, and couldn’t make my legs move another centimeter higher. My friend was about 3 flights above me before he noticed that I wasn’t next to him. He came back to me, and saw that I was seriously pale and sweating profusely, so we decided to go back down. I practically ran down the stairs, and almost kissed the ground when I finally got there.

A long way from her days as a junk dealers daughter, "Darling buds of May," and a guest spot in "Young Indiana Jones." I remember how cringey it was for Henry and Elsa in LAST CRUSADE. This was a lot like that only different. As much as he wanted to, he didn't. For some 14th century monastery shenanigans, Sean as a Monk detective, NAME OF THE ROSE. It's not a heist. Nightclub girl Catherine on trial? CHICAGO. Hollywood hearthrob Catherine marital problems? AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS.
