Mixing or confusing meats and vegetables. This is "Entrevero", one of the most typical and traditional dishes of authentic cuisine from Southern Brazil. Depending on the region, ingredients may vary. There are those who put sheep meat and even pork. In any case, the mixture or confusion is always very tasty and is usually accompanied by bread.
This "entrevero" was made with bacon, beef (rump), chicken breast, chicken heart, pepperoni sausage and Tuscan sausage, in addition to peppers (red and yellow), onion, garlic, tomato and green seasoning (parsley), more salt and black pepper.
The origin of the dish goes back to the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, when the transportation of goods, especially food, was done by the so-called "tropeiros", men who traveled on horseback and also used donkeys. For days and even months, they circulated from one region to another, taking and bringing products. They fed on the provisions they carried and what they found along the way. Thus, the entrevero, made in an iron pot, was one of the best options, due to the simple way of making it, apart from the fact that it is very tasty.
