A journey on ensignbus route 68 but the bus we ride this time around is the Enviro 500 prototype. This was new in 2003 as DD34 but never saw much use apart from mainly static testing but it did have the KMB interior then (This was being used for tests prior to KMB getting the first batch of ATEs but without any registration). However, it was unregistered for a very long time until recently when ensignbus received the bus and it later got the euro 5 cummins engine and ZF gearbox plus it had a single door and open top conversion along with the removal of the KMB seating. Enviro500s are a rare bus type in the UK but are very common in hong kong as the only other operator of the trident E500 is First Aberdeen with their batch of 2009 Enviro500s. This was a very nice bus to ride and I prefer it to the Aayats Bravo B7Ls since its a more unique example of bus and its weird life as a static demo bus makes it stand out even more.
