An interesting use of micro-lenses to evenly distribute the light from a planer array of LEDs. Results seem poorer than techniques such as light towers and remote phosphors. Bulb appears to be from a vendor heavily involved in IP patent protection which is a sign of the innovation on the go in this market.

What does the light pattern look like without the lens cover? I know you did a review on a bulb previously and it was just a single flat emitter and had a pretty good light pattern.

Die cast Al heat sink painted white or is this made from the new thermally conductive plastics?
