I am stoked at the business we are doing, the two players involved in the swap for Dougie have a massive ceiling, we are also interested in the Dutch defender Dumfries in a potential swap deal which will see Cash leave, as well as renewed interest in Canadian forward J. David. (Maatson too, i mean wow tbf!)
@@AVFTS1 tbh Josh I’m really on the fence, I just want a viable alternative to Watkins given we may not have a second option soon, I’d take Tammy back first if i had my way!.(we are linked again btw)
Never liked the McKennie deal. New option seems like we’re getting a player with a higher ceiling and more desire to play for us. If this works out as a 50M sale for Luiz, seems likes decent business.
Imagine Frimpong on the right and Maatsen on the left, Torres and Konsa CB's. Maybe Carlos or even Hermoso if he comes and play a 5. I would have liked to keep Luiz but actually out of him Kamara, McGinn, Ramsey and Tielemans, he's the one I'm least worried about losing. I rate Tielemans so highly. I think Luiz is great but a bit of a luxury. We need someone who will grab the game by the neck when the midfield is a bit passive as we were at times last year. I just worry we may look back and think we really didn't get a good deal. On the other hand it may end up looking like a heist 🤣
@@ijl-cy9pp Martinez, Maatsen, Torres, Konza, Frimpong. McGinn, Gallagher, Kamara. Rogers/Ramsey. Bailey/Diaby. Watkins/David. That would be something and we are not to far from it
I don't know man. Barrenechea is awfully young and inexperienced to be starting for Villa, especially with all the games ahead. I think we have another signing coming for a more proven player at that position. Maybe Gallagher or someone like him. But Barrenechea is not Dougie's replacement. Barrenechea is going to need coaching first.
Barrenechea is 23. I don't think we are coming away from this deal with much to show tbh. After talks of £100m value. Two Juve fringe players and £25m, they're laughing at us.
@@ijl-cy9pp Kamara was 23 last year. Dougie was also very young starting for Villa. However, Villa had different expectations then. Barrenechea basically started in Serie A but his team was relegated. He might become a star, but right now we need a different signing. No one is laughing. This was a business transaction and we were lucky to get what we needed.
@@mikekane9213 my point is that he's already 23 and had barely any first team experience. I really don't think walking away with Iling Jr, this guy (not gonna lie I'd never heard of him before) and £25m is a good deal for us.
@@mikekane9213 exactly, he just doesn't have the experience needed to play in a team battling for top 4 in the prem. He could turn out to be decent but we don't need players that will be decent in 2 years, we need players who will be exceptional now. Honestly I can't believe the club would sanction this. It's an awful deal for Villa.
