Great when she calls her aunt bitch too. I think one should teach decency in school. The parents seem to have failed. For such children there used to be flogging after the witch burning didn't bring it anymore.
They always record with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, at least up to the last albums, so thats where the backing track comes from. Everything you heard was written and composed by the keyboarder, Tuomas Holopainen.
Tuomas just composed about half an hour traditional mostly instrumental orchestral music, which was released as a second part of their newest double album Human :||: Nature. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RnOdQ5WNZJk.html
My cousin played clarinet for Nightwish. She told me all about it. I was lucky to see them at Wacken. 82,000 crowd was the most amazing concert totally love Nightwish.
Yes. Her name is NOT "bitch"!! Does anybody really think it's cool to call somebody you don't even know a "bitch"?? Am I just too old? If I had called Anybody a bitch when I was growing up I probably wouldn't be sitting here on my laptop writing about some Gen Z'er calling Floor Jansen a "bitch"!!
@@stevekanakanui7033 I can't think of a "good" way call somebody a bitch. Either the person you're calling a bitch is truly deserving of the title, or you're WAY OUT OF LINE in my book...
The Finnish violinist, Sibelius Violin Competition winner, Pekka Kuusisto has featured Nightwish. So you can hope maybe you some day... More Nightwish reactions please! Greetings from Helsinki Finland!
@@Rob-H Yeah I know. I mean, it's standard today, it's used in science, and only USA refuse to accept it. Actually, USA, Myanmar and Liberia and that's it.
@@cancelled_user It's not out-and-out refusal anymore...I actually know some people (younger than me) who grew up with both systems simultaneously and had the conversions for everything drilled into their heads along with the rest of the sciences. For the most part, the new systems are slowly but surely winning out over the old by process of attrition. Oh, well.
@@cancelled_user Yes, but the young lady in the video used feet, so I did likewise. Floor is 183 cm, but she was wearing 10 cm heels (which sounds like a lot, but is actually pretty reasonable for someone of her size).
Floor Jansen just slays it! Her voice is fantastic and you can tell she's had classical training to be able to do what she's doing! Nightwish concerts are a little over 2 hours long, so you have to be a true badass!! I am 63 years old and have been listening to hard rock/heavy metal since I was a kid...in the mid 1960's. Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, Black Sabbath ( with Ozzy ), Nazareth, Boston, AC/DC, Metallica, and on and on....and no single band has ever done anything like Nightwish! Their music takes you on a journey...and it's sung by this goddess!!! Oh...what you have felt listening to this song is called a "Floorgasm" by the Nightwish Army!! 😂😂😂
82,000 people at that festival. That interlude where ALL of them were spell-bound!!! Guitarist's name is Emppu Vuorinen and he writes the guitar music because Tuomas (on Keyboards, main composer) lets him "do his thing'.... He can shred with the best but his feel for the song - do what is needed to improve the song and not overdo it - is exemplary!... Floor Jansen can growl too and check out ANY song from this Wacken 2013 show! Nightwish does not have a "bad" song and not even a "bathroom" song so strengthen your bladder!.... a little less "Bitch" and a bit more "Valkyrie" would make your reaction more watchable imo.... Still cool to see you getting into it! FLOORGASM!!.... the beast on drums is named Jukka Nevalainen.
[003C] Hello @ MK from SymMusicReact ! Nightwish fans here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing in 2013 at Wacken Open Air festival, in front of a 82k+ audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. I watched all your 3 reactions in a row, in the proper order (A, B, C) - your was the most emotional. Even that's your first Nightwish experience, you "clicked" immediately. I smiled to myself noticing how the main singer was promoted from "bitch" to "ma'am" as the song progressed :) Edited: for you - I'll subscribe to your (common) channel. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. Floor Jansen is a dutch singer. She is classically trained but seriousky can sing anything. U should check out a video of herself and Henk Poort singing The Phamtum of the Opera on Bestezangers 2019. Bloody amazing!
i have to imagine all the downvotes here are from people of different languages/generations/cultures who think the reactor is being insulting even though she is clearly loving it ^^
Well, it may be a slang, but definitely not something I would expect from a violinist. I've been learning English for some 6+ years, but slangs like this still sound cheap and low to me.
@@cancelled_user well, perhaps rather than thinking 'there is something wrong with how this person speaks because it does not conform to my ideas of how violinists should speak', you could also treat it as a learning experience: that there are clearly violinists out there who do in fact speak in ways you would consider 'cheap and low', and that maybe your perception of this being a negative thing isn't necessarily accurate or necessary. the world is full of different people! ^^
@@cancelled_user Hey, Kyle, I was born and raised and still live in the U.S. So I'm obviously an English-speaking person. Yes, her choice of words here would be considered cheap AND insulting to most people here in the U.S. I consider her to be vulgar. I won't be stopping by this channel again.
@@cinderellsworth Each to their own I guess, I'm encroaching 50, depends on where you are from and how you grew up. My casual language would be considered quite 'salty' by average standards. It happens as a matter of verbiage you are surrounded with growing up. There are places I don't swear - work for one, I once said 'well, fuck that' in a casual conversation with someone at work and the look of shock from everyone around me was priceless. Ah, you don't know me as well as you thought, eh? Easy to condemn when you don't know them. I grew up around bikers, hippies and metal-heads (it was a very eclectic group when we all got together), pretty much every other word is a cuss in one way or another, very rarely in anger or disparity. She is in a casual/home environment reacting to new stuff. The casual language comes out. I say relax and stuff it ya fuddy duddies! ;P
I admit that the language was a little bit grating for me but it’s just how she speaks. No disrespect meant and it seem like a very genuine reaction and positive one at that. I gave her a solid thumbs up, bitch.
Yes, NW is great and so is she. She is our one and only Floor Jansen. (Say: Yahn-Sen) Although NW is a Finnish band, Floor is Dutch. You can find out how versatile she can sing if you take the time to listen to her live performances, both with and without NW. Floor also started at the end of 2019 with a solo tour through her home country of the Netherlands since her success in 'Beste Zangers (Dear Singers) 2019' And yes, you can say it sounds like a movie soundtrack, because it is. Actually from this album is also makes a movie. Imaginaerum is a 2012 Finnish-Canadian fantasy film co-written and directed by Stobe Harju. It has been developed with and contains music from the seventh eponymous studio album by the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish; Nightwish's keyboardist and songwriter Tuomas Holopainen co-wrote the film. Although the music is the Same as the studio album, the title of each song is changed. The flaming bull's head is the official emblem of the Wacken Open Air festival and the crowd number attracted over 80,000 spectators
Her name is Floor Jansen she is a Song writer Singer And Vocal Coatch She cam to Nightwish at 2012 Her The Nightwish Armee Call s Her Valkyrie Queen She is 6 feet1 or 1.83 m Pure Metall
well the band is the prime example of symphonic metal genre though their range varies as they have songs among others like jazz, thrash , power metal , folk, hard rock , ballads, poppy, operatic.... and even some growling. They have had 3 lead vocalists so far with Floor being third one and most flexible and multi purpose. First one was more operatic, and second was more for studio but less for live concerts. In addition to Floor the bass player Marko is an amazing vocalist who was lead in his old band Tarot and they have a multi instrumentalist named Troy who also sings. As for the symphonic part of their sound, Tuomas who is founder of band plays keyboards and composes 95% of their music writes also the symphonic parts that are arranged and recorded by London philarmonic etc to be used as backtrack during the songs
Floor Jansen (Yahn-sen) the Dutch queen of symphonic metal. Floor has loads of vocal training, from Operatic to musical theater, as well as the rock academy in The Netherlands.
Welcome to magical world of the Nightwish! Nice reaction, enjoyed. Regarding the band’s music studies, the answer is yes, they have all studied music. Floor (vocals) started playing the piano but later began studying vocals. She studied rock singing for 4 years at the Rock Academy and one year of classical singing. Marko (bass and vocals) has studied singing and playing guitar and bass for several years. So there are two singers in the band who have both studied it! As a teenager, Jukka (drums) studied drumming for a few years. But the longest study of music has been done by Tuomas (keyboards, composer, poet, "metal Mozart"). He studied music for almost 12 years (between 7-19 years). History of music, theory ... Piano, clarinet, tenor saxophone. Classical and jazz. He started playing the piano at the age of 7 and said (in interview) he did a lot of classical music finger exercises on the piano, the etudes became familiar! It’s sometimes confusing to watch Tuomas play, it can look very wild. He has three keyboards, two on top of each other towards the audience and one on the left side towards the band. Many times he plays two at the same time, the one with the right hand towards the audience and the one with the left hand towards the band. But the wildest is when he plays and spins his head (windmill) at the same time. It looks absolutely amazing. But then it’s good to remember that his background, why he can play even with his eyes closed!
Well you have called down the Nightwish Army. Congrats As a musician. To play with a backtrack for 3 minutes is nuts. The timing has to be on point. Any slept and turns to sh t. To play for 10,16,20 minutes with backtrack is insane. To think the bands been playing and Floor singing for over a hour. Before this song. An have 30 minutes after it. An still sound perfect.
To me it sounds like you haven't allowed a metronome to be the boss very much? If you are used to practice to a metronome it is no problem performing with one. It was over a decade ago drummers really started to use some form of click in their in-ears which means their band mates all played to a metronome live.
For their latest double album Human|Nature that came out in April, the entire second disc is 30+ minutes of symphonic music with very little vocal or spoken word. Also the keyboardist has a solo project called Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge which is like a film score, but with vocals.
Floor Jansen has a great little RU-vid channel now. It's really worth checking out. It's very "home-y" with horses, cats, fence building, music and this and that. It is VERY non-egotistical. (or I wouldn't watch it).
@@garysimcox345 I'm not sure what "world" you live in, but in my world a bitch is a derogatory term to use towards a female human being. A bitch is a female dog. When you misuse the English language like that, YES, it offends me. I could easily misuse a few words and offend YOU greatly, I'm positive of that. Just sayin'.... Words DO mean something. WHAT you say and HOW YOU SAY IT matters!
Symphonic metal isn't my cup of tea, but, there's no denying the talent on display here. And, Floor Jansen has got to be the MOST versatile vocalist in music today. She's a classically trained opera singer, but, she can sing anything, and, make it sound AMAZING!
The singer's name is Floor Jansen. If you re-visit the video you just reacted to, check out the comments. One of the top comments is from ... yup, Floor herself. :-) She does have her own channel where she puts up basically a vlog. in one of her Saturday Storytime videos (I think it was #2), she said she was asked what she is doing for a work-out. She replied, she's not doing work-outs, she is just working on her farm. Cut to a scene where she is swinging a big hammer, ramming in fence-posts for a corral for her two horses... From these videos, she really seems down to earth and really likeable.
Had to watch this :) GLS is such a classic metal song to react to and always impressive to listen to. Ironically this song wasn't written for Floor but she owns it better than the person it was written for. A genuine goddess of metal. Since you guys seem to be doing the best of the best reaction videos, I'm guessing Jinjer's Pisces live session or Perennial at Wacken will be coming up soon. Looking forward to either of them (tbh I prefer Perennial but Pisces gets more views). :D
Ever heard of The Great Kat? Attended Julliard playing the violin, took all that speed and dexterity & applied it to the electric guitar. Pure hyper speed metal. Check out her album Beethoven On Speed. You could be the next great metal Goddess!
Emppu doesn't need to show off. He know he's one of the greatest guitarists ever which allows him to do exactly what he needs to do, no more no less. If a song needs a simple solo, that's what he'll give you, if a song needs a face melting shred solo, that's what you'll get.
As a violinist you should react to Eluveitie! They are a Swiss Folk Metal band and it is absolutely nuts. SO. MANY. INSTRUMENTS. I would advise : Eluveitie - Rebirth Eluveitie - King Eluveitie - The Call of the Mountains
thank you so much. that was one of the best reactions to GLS, I´ve ever seen. I´m happy and glad, when a "serious" musician can appreciate this music we love. the genre is called "symphonic metal. I´m convinced, that beethoven, if he lived today, would like it a lot. they have the london philharmonic orchestra, the metro voices choir group from london and london's young musicians children's choir on backtrack. arranger and composer is keyborder tuomas, holopainen. orchestral arrangements by Pip Williams, singer floor jansen had some classical vocal training. Quote of the day: "I wish, she was my aunt." bravissimo. and you are a pretty cool young lady yourself. greetings and love from germany.
Go out and do it. There are no boundaries in music, no 'Classical police' to head you off. There are so many crossovers. It seems to me that there is an amazing new world out there that you have little idea about. Go out and explore and go out and play.
Glad you seemed to enjoy it. The look on your face when Floor hit those last couple high notes spoke volumes. Hope you decide to listen to more of Nightwish. There's some really great stuff in their discography.
First of all I have no idea how I got hear but I am glad I landed here. The RU-vid Wizardry strikes again. Love how you show that respect and the almost longing to be in that moment. Good job.
I see you've already heard Epica and now you've been introduced to Nightwish and Floor Jansen. so next I'd recommend Epica - Sancta Terra (feat Floor Jansen) Live Retrospect show
Most things are said. Nightwish are one of, if not the most successful bands from Finland as of today. Their mix of genres and music styles into a symphonic metal music experience is genius. I would want to suggest to also react to Nightwish "The greatest show on earth" live performance. There also Marco sings including a duet.
No 'like' or 'dislike' from me, as I'll wait to see another NW reaction (I'm part of the 'Army'). I will say I'm glad you liked it/them, but that you seemed more impressed by their hair and 'look' than any of the music or singing. Hopefully that will change.
MK: If you're offered a chance to play on one of their albums, there's three things you HAVE to do. 1) Accept immediately. 2) Play with every atom of your being - like your life depends on it. 3) ENJOY IT!
Its a Symphonic Metal Rock band and old band comes from Finland they had 3 female lead singers and the third= Floor Jansen come from Holland and she had before a metal band before Nightwish. Her band broke up and Nightwish ask to join the band. The rest is history ! The band has a huge following !
Metal music is the gateway genre to classical music, paradoxically, classical music is the gateway genre to metal music. The combination of the two is the apex of music.
Wow, I dunno what I expected but this reaction was really pleasant to watch. Gonna subscribe just because you're so likeable and relaxed. Hell you could start your own channel probably
Awesome reaction ! And girl, it's your vibe now ! Welcome to the world of Nightwish and Floor ! ...and " YES , BITCH!! " has to be the most honest Reaction to Floor's singing. LMAO 😂 .
Yeah, I wondered if your comment at the beginning about the skill of metal musicians was due to the unusual time signature(s). I don't know enough to follow them except for counting 12, 5, 6. It's certainly unusual and shows off their composition and performance abilities. And yeah, she's 6'1" or so, plus some heel - got some presence. Also, you should definitely play in a metal show - I don't know how often Nightwish uses a live orchestra with strings, but Epica sure does.
'the baddest bitch' is actually called The Valkyrie 😉 Analysis: good on point comments (especially regarding use of backing tracks) Reaction: fun, entertaining, nice personal comments. Liked!!!
If you wanna play in a metal concert, I'd imagine you could find a band to try it with - I doubt attitude would be a problem :D It's no longer just guitars, bass, keyboards and drums... Among just Finnish metal bands, Apocalyptica has made a career outta playing metal with cellos, and the power metal band Turisas always rocks a violin (and an accordion). New Nightwish albums and tours feature multi-instrumentalist Troy who plays Uilleann pipes, tin whistle and all kindsa instruments.
If you wanna hear something more classical from them, the second half of their latest album, *Human:||:Nature* (the songs prefaced with *All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World)* is almost entirely instrumental, and makes heavy usage of their partnership with the London Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the newest member of the band, Troy, who plays the Irish Pipes and the largest mode of the Tin Flute. The whole thing really has a much more classical vibe to it, and it'll really give you an appreciation for how good of a composer Tuomas (who's also the keyboardist) is. This link should take you to that part of the album playlist: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_EagLsFGJIE.html
If you want to hear some more symphonic metal that has orchestral backtrack then give Epica a shot. Their Retrospect live show has a orchestra and choir on stage with them. Floor even shows up twice in that show (Sancta Terra, Stabat Mater Dolorosa). Give Presto a listen for a classical twist!
Hi and welcome to the world of symphonic metal! :) - Another ones you might be interested in: The Poet And The Pendulum, The Greatest Show On Earth, and a favorite of mine, I Want My Tears Back, live at Buenos Aires - the interaction with the audience is amazing and you'll see Floor as you never see her before. :-P
Well Nightwish is showing what is true rock especially metal stems from classical that is why symphonic metal is able to exist on the same stage. They are complementary to one another other metal and rock musicians have done this in the past metallica their S&M album was done with a symphony so was the Scorpions with berliner philharmonic elo was with orchestra music as well. So its not a new idea though Nightwish has been able to blend it better. Epica with floor jansen Sancta Terra love is a good one to watch as the symphony is on stage so is the choir.
U r now my new favourite youtuber. Love your free language and lovely jewellery. Btw there isnt that much difference between some technical metal and Chopin piano sonates. Just different instruments to a degree. Like the Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater. Im pretty sure youve never played something sith that many time signature changes in classical music. Maybe itd intrigue you. Ill be subbing regardless.
You are super calm during the reaction and I was thinking "Floorgasm" incoming in...3..2..1...and BANG !!! the surprised look in your face..". No one pass-thru this indifferent...Very good reaction... Tries "The Poet and the Pendulum by Nightwish " next to. A masterpiece. To be explained "Floorgasm" is we call the reaction to Floor Jansen (the vocalist) when she reaches this notes and sustained them for such a long time. In almost every Nightwish song there is a "Floorgasm" moment.
that croud is 82,000 fans!!! Floor is between 6ft and 6ft 2 by what I've read. The Swiss have a Swiss Army knife. We have Floor the Dutch Army knife, who can sing ANYTHING!She is a Classically trained Opera singer. The style of the choreography is crazy! All of their songs sound different.

As a violinist you might be interested in Ne Obliviscaris - And the Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope, the song is even studied @ the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. It is a truly amazing track that even people who aren't into that kind of music truly appreciate
Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer there - the man seems to be a living metronome. When you're playing against a complex backing track like this, the band relies heavily on the drummer to keep the rest of them on track - otherwise it could all go horribly wrong.
welcome to the fantastic musical universe of nightwish and floor jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music. the whole 2013 concert in wacken is epic and deserves to be watched and reacted song by song, the whole 2013 concert in wacken is epic and deserves to be watched and reacted song by song, but in particular I suggest you watch the songs of the same concert: "song of myself", "storytime", "ever dream" and " Romanticide " this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" live in the 2015 concert in london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" live in the 2015 concert in tampere - finland.

SMR....Great honest reaction, thank you. Her name is Floor Jansen ( Yansen sound, Dutch ). Not 10' tall, just 6'1". Band originated in Finland in the 90's. I had to laugh...as I was sliding my cat ( Charlie ) from in front of my screen yours jumped in your lap. The dog was much more subtle just allowing his ears to be seen. Hope you do some more Nightwish, reactions. This was nice nice, they do the Bad Ass stuff very well also. You are about to have a large number of visitors on your station. The Nightwish Army is on the way.....Enjoy !
I'm just going to put it out there: If you love what you see with Nightwish, then you should check out Brittney Slayes and Unleash the Archers -- one of the _few_ vocalists who can even come close to Floor, lol. Check out Abyss, Soulbound, Awakening, and Apex, to dip your toe in the Power Metal genre, then move up to Tonight We Ride and Time Stands Still -- I guarantee you Brittney and the band will blow your mind, lol. Welcome to the Nightwish Army, by the way. You're now one of us. 😁 By the way: This "metal show" was a metal festival that Nightwish headlined in 2013 -- where 82,000+ people attended.
Very raw reaction fantastic to see, and I've seen way too many Nightwish reactions. You nailed what the music is meant to sound like when you said it was like a film score. Tuomas (keyboardist) is the main composer (over 90% of the composition and arrangements) and he describes his music as "film music metal" but they fall into the symphonic rock category. I'm pretty sure the drummer Jukka arranged most of this song. The London Philharmonic performed Tuomas' composition for the backing track though I think Troy had a major hand in the interlude. Just some answers to some of the things you were talking about as seeming interested in. Yes Ma'am!
Her name is Floor Jansen & she is 6 feet tall without her heels. On stage she is a Viking Angel, off stage she is a wife, mother & humble girl next door. You may want to listen to "Sancta Terra" by the band Epica with Floor as guest singer because it has a live orchestra to accompany the band.
Dear MK: I want to make a suggestion a bit removed from the topic here, since you are a music student. There is a Russian band I have been following lately called Imperial Age. They are more of a vocals-focused band, using three operatic voices -- one male and two female -- and are often compared to Therion. The point I thought you might be interested in is that of the two female singers, one is also a doctor (MD and specialist gynecologist (Jane Odenstova), but the other, Anna Moiseeva, is a recent graduate of the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow -- the GITIS -- founded under Czar Alexander II in 1878. She completed the 5-year degree of "Director of Musical Theatre", after first completing a basic 4-year undergrad degree at her local college. She is both a classical pianist and opera singer. Since you mentioned in one of the videos that you are about to embark on a graduate degree, I thought you might find this interesting. You could look them up -- they have recently released a highly acclaimed first music video "Legacy of Atlantis" at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uv-yZkRd0fE.html -- or perhaps in four or five years we will find you have gone the path of Anna and we will see you in a music video of your own! Good luck with your studies!
