Hi Everyone, Winter in the U.P. is hitting early this year. I decided to do a 3 day whirlwind adventure to some of the beautiful places I've been wanting to share with you. In this episode we'll be braving the miles of bad roads out to one of the most remote spots in the U.P. (Luce County) I love this area! Usually I pick blueberries out here in the fall, but missed it this year due to other commitments.

Ever make it to Whitefish point lighthouse maritime museum? Planning a trip up there looking for a some info on the area, tips etc. Wanna launch my 11' SIB for a little cruise if I get the chance (Wavy isn't useless she's a moral support dog) 😘🐶

Yeap, I've been there. It was closed when I was there (coof crap) but walked around the outside and it was awesome. I have an inflatable adventure planned for this fall too. Take pictures man. Send them to my email if you can.

@@backwatersandbackroads definitely take tons of pics & vids haven't had much time to edit & post yet (putting together these adventures is hard work) also like to cruise past pictured rocks, itinerary could change though taking me elsewhere......🤔😏😉

She sure does Karen! When I remember, i push the button to lock them. Sometimes when I'm not paying attention, I'll get cold and think, what's going on here?? And wavey has the back windows all the way down! Useless spoiled brat! ;)

@@backwatersandbackroads my dog hit the button when not locked and he got ear pinched before i could respond quickly enough. Poor baby. I double check lock now.

@@backwatersandbackroads My sister was dog sitting my toy poodle for me and she locked my sister out at the convenience store. She had left the window cracked so she walked over to the woods and found a bendable stick and was able to hit the door lock button with it. 😁 She's shut the window on herself a few times. Once, I wasn't fast enough and it pinched her a little. She looked at me like I did it, on purpose! I have a rat terrier too and he broke my switch because he kept standing on all of the buttons at the same time. That was a $100 switch. My truck doesn't have a switch to lock the buttons. Ah dogs, you've just gotta love them. ☺😜

@@dixiedoo5876 I've been locked out a few times myself. Wavey starts doing her little "dance" and hits the lock. She did it to me once when I didn't have any shoes on! Ah dogs is right;)

I was never on so many dirt “roads” as I was up in the UP. Love it. I recall thinking “if I break down...how the hell would I get out of here?!”

hello from the cool colorful ozarks brenton!! those are super highways here in the ozarks!!i believe lake superiour is cleaner and prettier than gulf of mexico off of rockport texas south of houston. its great to see the light houses. i love our history! they allow you to enter the light house? here in the ozarks we have fire towers that you can climb and see the county country side! thanks for sharing your adventure and precious time!! tight lines and cheers!

Phillip! I think if you catch the caretakers at the right time, you can get inside. Would love to. The abandoned ones (like the one coming up) are always boarded up. Headed to the ozarks now!

It’s beautiful up there buddy. But it’s to cold for a southern boy like me. I could do June-August then I would have to get back south. I like 80 degrees at Christmas with my toes in the sand or a mud boat in the swamp. I was afraid your toaster would short out hitting all those water holes... lol The good thing about it, if you get stuck Wavey can pull you out....

Funny they memorialized "Girl Scout Cookies" and "Cheetos" for eternity on that sign. I'm surprised they didn't just say something like "snack foods". On a side note, how in the heck do you get away with having that giant crack in your windshield? Every time I had a small chip or crack in mine, the cops would immediately pull me over and ticket me.

Got to wonder if they got a small advertising stipend for that sigh! Lol ;) I did get pulled over in Nevada last year for the windshield, but the truth is they would have pulled me over regardless....we're post rights in America now. @@backwatersandbackroads I always check out your second channel. I remember that video you posted a while back when you got pulled over for something...I forget what it was for. Yeah, the Western English-speaking countries aren't the place for freedom these days. Strangely enough, the supposedly authoritarian Eastern countries are freer because their enforcement mechanisms are much more primitive.

@@the_gilded_age_phoenix8717 exactly. I think Russian is going to be the last majority white country left on earth in 20 years. The got communism, realised its hell on earth, threw it off just as the rest of the west was falling to it. I wish I could move there to tell you the truth.

That road is so holy you aught to feel blessed just making it through Brenton, lol. I used to live in Larium years back, and I picked a lot of those wild blueberries along the shore of Lake Superior. Best I've ever ate.

I just made that road trip to crips point right house last thanksgiving holiday season. Holy cow! I were so scared that we going to make down there. But it was so worth it🌳

Did a lot of fishing on bodi lake, camped right on the water. Be careful county roads will rattle parts off car or boat trailer. Lost boat fender on way out.

I could bring out a chair and sit by that water and listen and watch the view for hours, I think u need to carry more cheetos in your vehicle, glad your eating apples, I might have said this before but if anyone has heart burn or stomach problems, eat apples and it will help or heal your problems, takes getting used to but works wonders, when I drive by apple trees that people have I shake my head at all the apples on the ground. Did poor wavy get a face full of water on some of those puddles, it must have been funny.

Could I live on Cheetos and Girl Scout Cookies for ten days? Guess it depends on how many bags of Cheetos and how many boxes of cookies we are taking about. I realize people are supposed to able to live 30 days without food, but I hiked the Appalachian Trail and I would probably hike out if I thought the math did not work out to my advantage. I got my Blazer stuck bad near Big Shell Padre Island in 1986 and I started to carry a sand spike and a cum along. Now I have a winch on my Jeep, and I can lift my motorcycle back tire out of sand or mud. Much easier.

Love crisp point and the desolation...well up until it became the tourist attraction. Can sometimes get lucky and be the line sole out there. About a month or so back we had some deep water crossings on the road to vermillion point that's just east down the coast.

@@backwatersandbackroads from what I've gathered from people up there is the sisters decided to try going there in spring time with mud and snow combo not knowing it can be difficult to reach even if in the summer with certain vehicles. As far as the only one there part that's with the exception of the caretaker/ hosts in the camper. Vermilion point is an old life saving station. To find it just find the stop light in paradise and go north towards white fish point lighthouse and a few miles down on the left will be vermilion road. Stay on the main two track/ road and it ends at the station. Be careful of the water over the when you get there. It's was well up to and above the running boards on my f150. A chevy hhr and ford fiesta made it through so the metal tent might as well. Good luck!!!

@@backwatersandbackroads no problemo. Thanks for the vids on the western UP. I'm from South East lower michigan and camp in Brimley near the Soo once or twice a year. Farthest west I've been is picture rocks so getting to watch the vids of the cool places you go is awesome for planning future trips further west in the up.
