Took to the high Sierras the other weekend, before the holiday and the heat set in. My father Dr. Pop and my Tio Steve had already been at French Lake for two days before I showed up. For myself, it was a 48 hour in-and-out trip.
I learned from Dr. Pop that the fishing had been slow for them and other trail folk they encountered. Most likely due to recent weather changes. I quickly set up my tent and made my way to shore fish. After some uneventful time at French Lake, I took to the trail to the neighboring lake to try my luck. Thankful to have made the trip, as i immediately started getting some good fishing action. I switched to lures once I had 3 fish on the willow stringer. Leaving the lake, I had caught 5 total, with many others jumping around.
We ate good that night, energizing our bodies for our hike out the next day.
I thoroughly enjoy the high Sierra spring blooms, so many California wildflowers of varying colors, and wildlife abundant. Thank you for watching.
Happy Trails!
