Love the torch #Murca I definitely am capable of missing stuff like that as well. I'm currently slapping a used set on my 98. For some reason the front end sounds like a haunted house even after install. I have tubular CA so I'm gonna start with retouching everything
I'm just winging it here. I have changed several engines stock for stock. But this is my first custom build with aftermarket parts. It's a big learning curve for me since I never went to automotive school.
@@Gillettesgarage I'm right there myself brotha do you have ig? Or fb? Maybe I can send some pics of my current catastrophe. I'm trying to get my 98 GT straight. I have an 01 cobra that I am putting manley 305 forged stoker kit it. But I know I can't start my assembly on that and still be dealing with issues on the daily. Sucks because I have everything ready to go for it. It's on an engine stand in my bedroom any advice is appreciated 💯
@@lukie450 facebook.com/gillettetg You should make some video and post it to your channel. I find it much easier, I almost never take pictures anymore and sharing is so easy cuz I just text a link.
Thanks for showing the process and your honesty is welcomed. So many people look like pros! with all of the editing. What rear Rims/Tires do you have on your car? Specs would help, Thank you! B
In this video I have junk wheels but I got welds on my my car now. I swapped everything to a notch. They are 15x8 in the rear. 6.5 bs and I believe they are 15x4 in the front. I have 275 r60 15 nitto 555 that fit well it’s a 28” and I have 10.5 26 Hoosier for slicks both fit good. I’m in the process of shopping for a 15x10 6.5 backspacing wheel now. But I’m not sure which ones are lighter than what I have. You can see the wheels in my recent videos. The car I have now is a 93 notch.
I purchased the UPR kit also and the sleeves do not slide completely down so the notch is captured. Hope you understand, It did not on yours either? Do you have to grind down around the outside of the strut so it will??? Thank you, B
I didn’t worry about it. Cuz I didn’t ever plan to adjust them with the weight of the car on them. I just hold the sleeve with one hand and turn the nut with the other. Although it is definitely a good idea to make the notch bigger.
I believe this kit will work you read it and verify for yourself before you buy it. www.summitracing.com/parts/afc-29022?seid=srese1&gclid=CjwKCAjw36GjBhAkEiwAKwIWya9BnCXpCeAJtRZnTcCmBugOSRCRWzi_nU7iRADE9UU8FoJYGGm_aRoC2GUQAvD_BwE#overview
This is the actual kit I bought. www.cjponyparts.com/upr-front-coil-over-kit-with-sleeves-pro-series-1979-2004/p/COK1-V/?gclid=CjwKCAjw36GjBhAkEiwAKwIWyWudynX4HtZf2Xqf0FaS7mzOyiA0nsjf8hwzqE8sj0_uye8ivSVAChoC0FEQAvD_BwE#219=3663&year=1987
Can’t go any wider than 10.5 in one of my video I show the clearances of the tires I put on. You would have to mini tube to go wider. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rhBrZsNV52U.html min 20 I show the clearance. Min 24 rather is where I explain a bit about how to adjust the rear end. I really didn’t show much after I centered and triangulated the rear end. But I remember I could just slide my fingers between the well and the tires. So 1/2” of clearance. This is the tire size I used, Nitto NT555RII P275/60R15 107V P275/60R15 26 x 10.5 r15 Hoosiers fit too.
