So interesting that you are, and people still are, making the Must Have Cardigan. Gosh, I made that so so long ago, way early in my knitting experience. I love love the cardigan. Because I didn’t know any better, I just knit it and didn’t know about any problems, and didn’t worry about gauge. My only problem was seaming. It was sitting there as a WIP for years, and just needed to do the seaming and did that with my much more experienced knitter brain. I just love wearing it.

I also color code my cable charts. I color any front cables (coming "toward" me) in warm colors (yellow, pink, orange). Rear cables (going "away" from me) get highlighted in cool colors (green, blue, purple). It really helps at a glance!

Thanks for keeping me company on this dreary morning! I’m working on a last minute gift knit for my nephew to be, but definitely love the vibes of your cabled cardigan in Shepherds Wool. 😉

Hi Hailey, I´m Elisabeth from Austria, another addicted knitter and I really enjoy your podcast especially because of your charming nature and your wonderful colour choices. You really know what suits you and this is such a joy to watch. I feel so inspired because we look similar in terms of skin and haircolour.🧶

ooh, I really appreciate the tips about your blown yarn fading! I am going to knit my first colorwork sweater with camarose snefnug soon and I hope that doesn't happen! I have heard that type of yarn is hard to wash. oh well, the fluff is worth it! Also can't wait to see how your Artus shawl goes! I kept thinking of "Artie Shaw" when you said the name of it. That's the jazz nerd in me, lol.

The fluff is worth it!! It’s been a great sweater these past few years. I’d still probably knit another sweater in a blown yarn. I think I’d just be more aware of areas that receive a lot of wear.

The navy yarn looks wonderful knit up in cables! I am super happy you are enjoying the cables. It's been a few years since I've knit the Must have cardi, I should wear it more often. Thank you so much for this cozy episode. My weekend was unfortunately more chaotic than anticipated so taking the time and my knitting to wind down for a bit was super relaxing and my Weekend Hat (also knit up in Sandnes Double Sunday in Electric Blue held together with a mohair) is coming along nicely.

Jana!!! Yes, I think this yarn is great for cables. And thank you for kind of giving me a preview/warnings on it. It really helped me to make some adjustments to my approach which I hope will help. Thanks for taking time out from your sheepy reel watching to hang out! 🐑

Great podcast. Your organizational tips are appreciated...I prefer following written directions to following a chart, but your highlight tips would help.

I’m so glad!!! It has helped me tremendously especially when I was still learning how to read cable charts. That little bit of visual differentiation…

I love your color choices for the shawl - you inspire me to be more adventurous with color! However, I’m currently knitting the Whelan cardigan by Julie Hoover and I don’t think I will ever knit a cable sweater again … or at least not for a very long time … I made easy to follow charts, labeled the stitch markers to line up with the charts and it’s a light colored wool but I guess I’m not a cable person haha. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful cable result!

Isn’t it funny how we all have those techniques we love when others drive us mad?! I love cables, not so keen on stranded colorwork. I would love to be a colorwork knitter, but not sure if I ever will be! I do love Julie Hoover’s designs though. I’m sure any frustration you have will be worth it!!

Hi Hailey, new subbie here, I'm Dianne. Nice to meet you! I was just looking for some new podcasts to inspire me for the new year and am so happy to have found your channel! IMMEDIATELY hit subscribe! 1) love your adorable shortl hair! 2) Nashville!! My daughter and her hubby live in White Bluff (about 45 min west of you) and I visit as often as possible from Virginia. 3) The ARTUS, I am just finishing my last rows of the first waffle section and so anxious to dive into the colorwork diamonds! Since you love mosaic, this is going to be very enjoyable! Anyways, I look forward to seeing your progress! I am using all Les Garcons British DK and enamoured with my pallette for mine. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!

Hi Dianne!! Thanks so much for watching and for your sweet comments. Yes, I know White Bluff well. I grew up on the West Side of Nashville. So fun!! I’ve just finished the textured section on my Artus. It’s such a great project so far. Hope you’re enjoying it too!!

Another lovely podcast. Light was fine. I do like hand dyed yarns for smaller projects even shawls, not for sweaters. Knitting 2 rows with one skein and 2 rows in another skein is not my jam. Enjoy the holidays. Finish the mittens!

You know what Phyllis… this might be the trick! Get the hand dyed fix for accessories. I like it! Thanks for the tip.

You know I love yours and Mia’s podcasts. Another stunning one from you. I wonder in a future episode if you could show the less computer savvy knitters like me, how to set up a colour coded knitting chart online ? Merry Christmas Hailey, I only lost my dear mum a few weeks ago and your kind words to me meant so much. You are a pure joy to watch Gill xxx

Hi Hailey, while I appreciate the reason you aren't sharing the name of that pattern because it isn't size inclusive, it's frustrating to me that you're showing it to us if that's the case because it's such a beautiful pattern and I want to knit it! I'm a larger person but I know how to size up a sweater for myself. Please share the name of the pattern! 😊

Hi Nedi, thank you for your comment and feedback. I am sorry that I’ve caused you any frustration. You’re right. It’s definitely something I need to think about going forward. Because you are asking and I am not one to dodge a question, this is The Fireworks Sweater. The project is listed on my Ravelry if you’d like to review my notes there, designer info, etc. I forgot to mention this and I should have!

It took me while to locate the patterns that you mention. Could you please list them in your show notes? The transcript is pretty useless because it can’t spell the names. Through trial and error I fondly figured out it was the Skaro sweater.
