That's a great idea, and pretty simple for something like intake manifold, or valve covers. I employed that trick when doing my timing cover as well

@@EdBwoy you know where I can get a new control valve elbow. The one with 4 bolts, where you said that the sequence does matter

Mine had a small crack and with the new o ring it snapped in two

I need to get the manifold gasket. Is that an OEM gasket???

@@zoehaze no, it's not. I got it from eBay and the manufacturer is what's on the label - DNJ or something

It is a good amount larger than the 1st gen manifold

Update: I had to remove the fuel rails to get to all the bolts on the lower intake manifold. The fuel rails were pretty easy to remove and reinstall. I had to rebuild the chewed through knock sensor wiring harness because this part is not made anymore. After installing the new Knock sensors, the FX45 ran a lot better and had more lower end torque and would also downshift quicker when accelerating (it also seemed to accelerate faster). I also noticed that the engine started up quicker. It took me about 2.5 days (one day to disassemble, one day to rebuild the wiring harness and put the intake manifolds back on, and half a day (a few hours) to install all the hoses and air intake box (I am a DYIer). Thanks for this video series, it really helped me out. I had to look at your gasket part again so I would know how to properly install the new intake gaskets.

18 ft-lbs. Upper plenum to lower plenum 21 ft-lbs. Lower plenum to heads I must have forgotten to call the numbers out

You could also reuse the metal ones. Depends on the budget & what you want to risk. Remember I told you the manifold could be removed with the fuel rail?

In the Nissan Y50 platform, access can be a little tight because of the engine bay layout but with a good selection of tools it's not impossible
