I visited Odisha before the pandemic and was blown away by the beauty of the state. The temples, beaches , cave temples were exceptional. Kala Bhoomi is easily the best museum in India. I wanted to visit the tribal region soon. Looks like the state is in safe hands.

I lived in Orissa as Social Worker/activist some 50 years ago. Visited Bajirao Chatravas of Late Nabakrushna Choudhary (first CM of Orissa). Stayed with the farmers of Beliapal Block, Balasore Dist. before it was acquired for missile testing. Similipal - the Juang tribal people. Puri, Bhubaneshwar, Burla Medical College Hospital. Good to hear an update of Orissa spanning 5 decades. And Smita Ji you did an excellent job in bringing out the dedication of 1% of the bureaucrat that makes Bharat tick.🙏
All odia knows what was odisha and what odisha has achieved now. It's my own experience in 2000 my villagers were completely uneducated and suffering with poverty. But now all child from every family are educated, so it's possible only for stable politics ❤
Surprisingly i didn't get bored, very well conducted interview. I was surprised that smita could ask some awkward questions to him . As a citizen of odisha i can safely say whatever he said more or less true, but it would be good if opposition parties here do better job . We are missing a good opposition here. There needs to be more awareness about biju pattnaik's work nationally.

I was in Puri just 2 days ago on 7th Feb and was very much impressed by the improvement at Jaganath Temple. My Dad & Mom visited the temple in 2000 and told me it used to be so dirty, crammed, but it now looks fabulous.

It’s an excellent interview. As a Tamil person I am happy to see a Tamil person working hard to raise living standards of Odishans. It’s all possible because Mr Navin dedicated his life for this. Mr Navin seems to be keen to leave a legacy which will always be valued highly by the Odishans. From the interview I won’t be surprised if BJP brings him into their fold. Regarding migrant worker..it is not going to resolve overnight..improvement in education system, establishment of industries and more importantly change in people's mindset is necessary. As far as I know, there is a steel plant project under progress which is to be established in Kendrapara district. We need work, not empty rhetoric.

This Tamil's latest loot is bag project 1300 . A poor state like Odisha is distributiing people 1000 rupess and two bags with BJD logo and Nabin's name with government Revenue. Where as in UP a temple is constructed with 1400 donations and the Ayodya city is generating huge GST for the state. This is why everyone one wants Yogi.

I have a fortune of going to odisha very recently and visiting Bhubaneswar, Puri, konark.. The Adibasi Mela going on in Bhubaneswar.... It's was tremendously well organised and rigorous planing and executions to put behind it was fabulous. The development has been done was impressive in every aspect of field. Infrastructures are pure mix of tradition and architectural Marvel. Bhubaneswar will next best IT hub of eastern India in 5 years.. TCS and Cognigent strat functioning already.

Odisha today has a poverty rate of 11% which is lower than national average. It is the 9th highest GST per capita contributor among states (even higher than Southern states like Kerala & Andhra Pradesh) 47% of national mineral contribution in market value was contributed by Odisha alone (FY 22) Odisha currently has the highest Per capita income in Central & Eastern India (including West Bengal) This is not boasting but a clear trend how the state has progressed because it used to be at bottom in all these parameters just 25 yrs back.

Very clear conversation. Thank you for the insight. I did not know, Mr Pandian was so successful during his tenure implementing various projects for the people of Odisha. He does not have to be Odia to love the people of Odisha. He has spent his youth in Odisha with the people of Odisha. If i go with the face value and the talk, i want to trust him. But given the past disastrous experience with Kejriwal, you never know.
