Put light springs in the distributor. Set the timing with a advance timing light to 34 degrees at wot. run full manifold vacuum on the vacuum advance . You will also need mechanical secondaries. Running a 4 speed car you want the vac advance to up the off idle power then drop off , then the springs full advance and by that time you are at WOT . WOT timing is the critical timing for top end power

HaHa, thanks Rob, I already bled the brakes and took it for a drive. Ran great, shifted great and the brakes worked, so excited!!

Usually I put the camera on a tripod but this time son Logan was the video wizard.

Dieseling or run on can be low octane gas. Other things also but seems like you addressed those.

A former Hawaiian car. Could account for some of the rust. Your Vids have helped me with my '68 Olds. Glad I found you. Your Neighbor to the south.

Thanks Mikey G, you are probably right. I was told that it lived in Washington even has Washington plates. I have seen some way worse though. I like the 68 olds, I fixed up and sold a 69 olds.

I would think he would have set the timing if he had broke in the cam. Maybe he just wanted to verify it once it was in the car?

@@cuzz63 Roller Cam was not broken in pre start up. Thats why engine builder wanted to be there.

What did you used for front control arms and spindles? Doing a frame off on my gto and thinking of going tubular with disc. Thanks

I Purchased GM A body tubular control arms from Speedway Motors I also purchased from Speedway a front disc brake conversion kit. The spindles are also from Speedway OEM style the fit was perfect.

Again brother, outstanding work. You are truly a craftsman. Stage eight locking bolts and fasteners can relieve your loose header bolt problems quickly. Got to: stage8.com/gm-performance-locking-fasteners. They Will make a beautiful restoration even better. I am so looking forward to the finished product when she gets her final coat of paint and polish. Is this an SS car or a tribute car? Either way, well done! My wife and I will be following in your footsteps with a Chevelle SS shortly. Love the videos and intro. John

I always have disliked exhaust clamps hanging down....

I dislike that also and will get mine turned up once I install the rear valance and get things lined up. appreciate your comment.
