love the insight. my 21 month old is not talking in sentences but not for everything she says. i want to apply the scaffolding technique for the areas that she doesn't communicate in sentences yet
Yes! So a good way to find the ZPD is through task analysis. Try to find as many minute steps it takes to solve a problem, and that's where you'll usually find where the disconnect happens for them. Let me know if you have any particular questions/situations in mind that I can help you with!

Ung anak ko po nakakapg salita naman na turning 3 this sept 30 pero hindi pa po sya matatas pero na sasabi na nya ung gusto nya ang na observed ko po masyado po sya ma H magsalita like po name nya is Liam ang bigkas nya is Liham and may letters po sya ndi mabgkas ng tama like S or words na start sa letter S- snake kahit ulit ulit po namin tinuturuan. 2. lately na observed ko po madalas pag study time kmi ayaw po nya sumagot pag iaask ko sya like what’s this? Even though alam nya tatawa lang po sya or ngingiti so ni try ko po i change ung approach instead of asking what’s this? Mag point po ako ng pic then ill ask him is this a cow? Then nag aswer po sya “No”, a pig! With that approach mali po ba ung gngawa ko? Thanks much po if ma noticed nyu ung concern ko.
Hello, mommy! Subukan ko pong sagutin ang mga concerns mo. 1. For your 3-year old son, okay pa po yung minsan na hindi matatas na pananalita. Hindi pa po siguro nya mastered yung ibang sounds and "transition" (from sound to sound, syllable to syllable, word to word). Yung pag-add ng H ay mukhang paraan nya kung paano mapa-dali ang paglipat mula sa Li- papuntang -am. Ang pwede mo pong gawin ay tuwing mag-dagdag ng H, ulitin niyo po yung LIAM na walang H at mag-nod ng head for "yes;" then say LIHAM and shake your head for "no" -- to try to make him aware na magkaiba ang tunog nila. You can repeat this several times. Usually, susubukan nilang gayahin ka. Another way to bring awareness sa H, ay kunin niyo ang kamay NIYA, ilapit niyo sa bibig MO at gumawa ng exaggerated na "h" sound (mahaba, hhhhhhhhhhaaa) para maramdaman niya yun hangin sa kamay nya. And then gawin mo with "a" (make sure wala masyadong hanging na lalabas) -- para maramdaman nya ang difference. 2. That's actually a very good example of scaffolding. Good job, mommy! It's possible na umiiwas sya sa question form kasi nararamdaman niyang "test." May mga batang ganito, usually yung mga ayaw makaramdam na mali sila. But don't forget that this scaffolding should be tapered later on. Kailangan din nyang matutunan eventually ang answering questions. So another strategy could be: when you ask "What's this?" give the answer right away, to give him a routine na kailangan sumagot. Sana nasagot ko ang mga tanong mo, and don't hesitate to follow up. Hello Good morning Teacher Kaye. My baby said mama but inconsistent. What can I do in order for him to talk as much the word mama and papa. Thank you. I printed a picture of us and there is a word mama and papa below. Is this helpful? Actually he said papa already but I felt he can't connect with us. He knows me that I am his mama.
