I wonder I’m from Minnesota I’m from Minnesota the cold never was a issue and I have 7 years of experience doing hvac installation you think I’m potential hired to go over there?
Let me get this straight . . . you were sent to Antarctica to build freezers? (Don't tell me -- your next job will be in a tropical rain forest building heaters . . . )
So no, I built climate controlled spaces that store food at various temperatures. As opposed to the Antarctic climate which varies throughout the year, our fridges and freezers stay at a constant temperature we set to suit what is being stored. Just the same a building a walk in fridge in Queensland.
The work is straightforward and generally simple so when the AAD hire exceptional tradies we all feel a bit under utilized. Plant mechanic's are called dieso's which some didn't appreciate but their shops are the most organized of all the trades. Their routines are also the most mundane from what I saw aside from the maintenance sparkies. The key is don't make waves, have fun and meet people, see wildlife, and don't gripe about the work being dull. Positivity is key while complaining is frowned upon. Good luck!
