Finally had time to finish the episode during my work days, and I appreciate the shoutout Flop Jr.! This episode was so relevant for me. I have two tournaments I try to attend to each week and they have very different setups. One is a few minutes from my home and is outside with one big group blind-draw. The other is a city away from me but is indoors and has a separation between intermediate and advanced. While attending both regularly the past two months, all of my wins at the local blind draw came in one single night with a fantastic partner and we came in 4th out of 16 teams. Every SINGLE other time I’ve had an 0-2 night, but it’s motivating. The indoor tournament a city away I came in 2nd this week, and found myself trying to double dip against a guy who had just dropped back down to intermediate. I felt frustrated and cheated at first, but after listening to the episode this week I found peace in y’all’s words. I know that the other guy had moved down for his own reasons I probably don’t quite understand and I simply need to play better and focus on my own game. It shows me that if I can’t beat a lower ‘advanced’ player, then I’m simply not ready yet. I can relate all to well with y’all. Sorry about the essay, just had to rant it out to y’all cause the wifey simply don’t care lol

We are here for you brotha!! Vent away!! But we are so glad that the video was helpful. Yeah we have to remember that just because someone plays a great game against us doesn't mean they do every single time. So yeah just focus on you and getting better and it will work itself out! Good luck out there!!!

Is competitive singles before or after your doubles tourney? For some reason competitive singles has been the last event in our region.

Our local regionals are Big Blind Draw, Doubles, then singles.

Reason I ask is because me any partner has won the last two out of three competitive regionals but can’t finish top 3 in singles just like you. We feel like we lose full focus needed by the time we get to last event after already playing the doubles. However we both average 8.2 PPRs. So it’s either we get everybody’s best or a focus issue. Lol

@@glennsmith1645 Could be an adrenaline dump from Doubles. Me and my partner have had battles in our wins and felt drained after doubles so that could be it! No telling but just do your best to hype each other up after doubles and tell yourselves it aint over yet! lol Congrats on the wins man!!!
