In this weeks episode I push by body and legs to their absolute limit, working my way from 2 inch’s all the way up to 50 inch’s until I fail. I try my best to talk through what I do & what techniques I use to jump high and grind things that are high. Thanks for watching, all my links are bellow. Absolute Epic episode fella, especially when I'm always commenting on how high you are jumping. I loved the way you broke it down and explained what you were doing to get that high. Honestly I'd give you them all just because they were so high. 🔥🔥🙌🙌

That was a great challenge and a fun video to watch. I used to jump way higher than I currently can, but that is probably because I stopped jumping on high obstacles since I moved to Taiwan, and maybe also due to being older now. That lady was so nice to move the car for you.

@@cianhackett I’m guessing your foot isn’t sitting where you want it to and you’re creating an unwanted second groove? I’ve had this before, make sure your lower body has turned a full 90 degrees, then the upper body can turn slightly less and help guide you in the direction of the grind

I loved this episode! My best box jump was 54 inches in competition. Grinding things high on rollerblades has always been one of my favorite uses. It just feels so cool. Really enjoyed this video. 48 inches Is your everyday. if you put a little work in, you would go over 50 inches no problem. Not suggesting that you do that obviously lol just giving props in general. 💪

@@duke_nugen for context because it’s a random thing I’m just saying. It’s very challenging to engage in this topic without coming across like a total douche the lengthy explanation that follows will explain. Lol. In 2011, I broke my spine in five places attempting a ski jump. Five months later, I had recovered enormously, getting back to 106KG when I had been down to 80 when I was stuck in bed. Then I went to a fitness expo called Bodypower which is held in Birmingham. They had an open contest where people were jumping onto a pummel horse. I jumped into the contest and managed to get a 54 inch jump in regular shoes and jeans. I broke world records in lifting when I was 19. When I was 18, I decided to put my focus into lifting because I had a better future than in rollerblading. Fast forward all these years. I did, end up turning professional in one bodybuilding Federation. I have coached legitimately hundreds of people which is what I do full-time and I owned a gym for 8 years. during this entire time I still daydreamed about skating on a daily basis. Occasionally, I would strap up and go to a few tricks, but I would always feel tight and it wasn’t great feeling but you just assume that’s what comes from having so much muscle. I essentially had a midlife crisis that lasted over cvid for various reasons. The end result once everything was cleared, and all the bs was left Behind. (The amount of crap that I got because I didnt want be a big BBer anymore. It was mind blowing! After losing many “friends” during the process of me going back to what I truly love, which is and always will be skating. I am That guy has always thought about skating. I cannot see a handrail and not think about it. Obsession to the max. But for obvious reasons being 110 KG and then jumping onto stuff. It just doesn’t work well. Although I have suffered injury in the past, I am a very calculated person. In fact what I have learned the most. It is to go very slowly back into things. An inch forward per day. It may not seem like a lot, but the secret that no one tells you. There is no such thing as slow or fast progress. Because that is completely subjective. If progress is being made in any shape or any form, then we are winning! But fast forward to current day. I weigh 86 KG. I have learned a ton of body manipulation stuff over the last year . to the point where I have really impressive stuff in very short periods of time with some of my clients, but that is a different story.. We can excited about a skating clip from 20 years ago. Skating is timeless. Skating is a way of life. When your body is open enough, conditioned enough, strong enough then you are able to do amazing Ninja stuff. However, there will be periods of time where skating is not possible for some of us. Instead this is a time that we work on our body strengthening it making it healthier. Preparing yourself for what is to come! Skating is the ultimate anti-aging approach. we want to keep the joint ligaments open. Skating is how I reward myself for getting my body open. I literally won’t allow myself to skate if any part of me is off. We basically want to stay young forever. One thing I have learnt it is that the body can do basically whatever you want, but it does take time we’re talking about weeks and months. You are one of very few people that has interest to the degree that I do in these very specific topics. so if by chance you would like to chat about topics like this again, the future just add me on IG @parkin_cornelius if you have interest I would gladly give you a few suggestions that could make a huge difference in your skating. Because the more open you get the body the easier it all becomes. I am offering some free “coaching/reviewing” if you ever wanted. Because like you, I think everything through (including this ridiculously long reply). Here’s something you can try if you want to test out some of my stuff. Stand up in military attention, stay in this position. Now all you do is move your scapula. In otherwords spend 30 minutes shrugging your shoulders. Use the biggest range of motion possible. Move in all possible ways using your scapula. Just ensure you’re holding the rest of your body is military attention. Dont even allow tiny movements with your other body parts. Sounds strange I know, but if you give it true effort for 30 mins, right now as you read this. I am willing to take a gamble on you saying it befitted you :-) doing it with a mirror in front so you can critique yourself.
