A bigger percentage of kenyans we love our own music, films and content its only a small % ndio hutaka kudictate what we should consume. Cheki vyenye nairobi half life ilibamba wasee ,simply because we could see places and hear voices that we are familiar with
Kabisa. If there is something the online content creators continue to prove, shida ilikuwa gatekeepers. Hao ndio walikuwa wanakuamilia eti "Kenyans don't/can't support Kenyan". But the Abel Mutuas continue to prove them wrong, just be consistent in producing, packaging and promoting these productions. Hata the Nyashinskis are proving a Kenyan act can singlehandedly sell out a concert. Mbele iko sawa.
Juakali makes a lot of sense,we can be understood without kujichange, even mtu wa Argentina akikosa ku understand you won’t change it to the accent yenye anaelewa
U mean it’s okay for a luo to speak kikuyu with a luo accent? Hapo kwa accents everyone appreciates ukiongea with something close to the natives.. good example is ukipeleka accent ya bara Mombasa
There’s a difference between being fluent and having an accent. There are many foreign speakers in the USA na wengi si waafrika na watu watakuelewa. You can pick up an accent from living within a community but it is not required to be understood… IQWatson has spoken about it and has expressed pride in his kikuyu accent, even saying it separates him when speaking at work or professional events.
Kwa wale hawajui Wambui ni nani search for the song Tunakatika by WamboE ft JImmwat that is the song Jua Cali is referring to. I think her sister bado ako Capital FM anasomanga news updates (of course with an American accent)
Exactly. Accents mean the person is multi-lingual i.e. they speak your language but with the rules of their native tongue esp French speakers talking in English.
Mwaf, there is a radio presenter you need to bring. Willy M Tuba. If he can agree to come...that dude had seen many people rise, I think he has stories about artists for daaaaAys
Hata watu wa SA Wataanza kuimba na English once wamekuwa signed by American music companies. Pesa will change all that. Hio ndio shida tuko nayo how to gain international success without losing ur culture
Hapo kwa accents lazima utasema warer ukiwa🇺🇸 it’s either an American or British accent coz English is not a Kenyan language so u have to talk peoples language they way they understand..ni kama mjaka aongee kikuyu with a jaka accent unaona itakua tricks so jua should know this bana 😂😂😂
Shows being dubbed in other languages expands the horizon ya hio show. Huku ujakani kuna soap opera inaitwa Thapki - originally in Hindi, but dubbed in dhoLuo. Kila jioni wamama wa soko wanakimbia Ramogi Tv kuona wahindi wanaongea Dholuo. Hata M.P. wa Ksm East wakati wa campaign alikuwa anajiita Shackeel Shabbir Owa(d)gi Thapki (Shabir Ndugu ya Thapki). Same show was also dubbed in Gikuyu & airs on Inooro Tv
on Friday was World Kiswahili Day.African Union declared Swahili as the working langugae.governments za Africa including South Africa zimeongeza Kiswahili in their curriculum, Disney ilichukua the term 'hakuna matata'. So in the next decades Kiswahili itakua widely spoken not only in Africa but World wide.
This thing about Accents. There's a New York ( East coast ) Mid West, Southern accent... You speak the type of English jua Cali is speaking about in places like Alabama, Mississippi, no one will understand you. Huyu msee achill bana
Thanks jua cali for exposing the dj culture and radio producers……I really get hurt everytime i hear listen to a kenyan radio play afrobeats non stop without a kenyan song, same way listening to these new djs promoting afrobeats mixes na wewe ni mkenya, thats where we go wrong.
