I'm so grateful this game has come along. I am still at the beginning stages making small journeys, so I have been enjoying your videos and seeing the other things that have been added for our enjoyment. I am legally blind, and I know nothing about sailing, but I am still having fun. Even though I have sailed past my destination many times, I still get a sense of satisfaction when I figure out how to get the ship moving again, and laugh to myself when I do finally make it to land and I am actually where I am supposed to be. I am afraid to sleep while travelling because in my early save, I slept, and when I woke, I had absolutely no idea where I was and it felt like I had sailed into open water. Thank you for making these videos and showcasing how much thought has gone into development. I will continue to enjoy the journey with you while I continue to teach myself how to sail while getting lost in my own save in the process. 🙂
Hey Johnny, amazing story! And welcome to the chill zone! Nice that you got to set your own challenges! Which region are you sailing in? This game is a gem indeed!
@@Icu2chill I started in the easy region, Al' Ankh and I am trying to collect enough money to buy a spyglass because I sail for a while, and end up convincing myself I have gone the wrong way. I need to have more confidence in my abilities I guess, because if I persevere, I usually end up where I was supposed to go. I am also trying to figure out how to trim the sail so it doesn't blow me too far off course. My approach is to play until I feel like I am getting too frustrated, and then I take a break. I spent three hours sailing around Neverdin one envening trying to sail into the port...this was one of those take a break times because I do like this game, and Id be proud to graduate to a larger ship, if I can just figure out what I am doing.
Got it! Yes spy glass will definitely help in Al’Ank! Taking your time is the best way to do it! For the sail I tend to be blown of course if my angle to the wind is too narrow I feel, so I usually sail more aggressively when awake so I can counter the wind pushing me off, and gives it some slack when asleep. Fair winds and keep us updated of your progress!! If you get tired of the dhow you may want to give a go to the Emerald Archipelago, islands are bigger there! And the kakam is awesome!
