Hey mate the 100 in the door and 50 in the quarter is perfect. Considering the front quarter extension things will just look right. It’s a beautiful build and your attention to detail is on point. If going by how every washer on the mez floor is in perfect alignment this is going to be a flawless perfect build. Keep up the great work the patrol lovers of the world will thank you!
Your build, so of course you would know more than all of us. For what it’s worth though, I’d choose function over fashion. Give yourself plenty of room, leave the door as is and then include a suicide rear door to create greater access. It’s not being built as an original truck so make it unique.
I think the 50 rear wall and the 100 on the door is perfect size , by moving the door back that far the pillar IE door frame is not so bad in your peripheral vision.
I think the overall cab size is good, but I think you should split the difference and add an even amount to both the door and the rear quarter. If you extend the door too much the window is going to become very long and look almost roof chop like
I would put the steering wheel in to determine your seating position (maybe room to stretch the legs (Power Nap) then make adjustments and Measurements from there following the Golden Rule in Art of 1:1.6 Ratios wherever possible.
Either go with 50mm quarter & 100 door or 75 on each which I think i world lean towards. Recon you have it pretty nailed but only worry is if door to long it might stand out. . . Loving the build to can't wait to see how she comes up👍👍
I like the way you have it set up.The larger door extension verses a longer quarter extension should help create a lesser blind spot.Looking forward to how you deal with the distorsion on the big flat part of the door.
This is a great content, very interesting build you’ve got going here! My two cents on the extensions, just extend the door and b-pillar by the same percentage on both for their given length until you get the cabin length you want, just to keep it looking like it has the same proportions of the original?
The proportions of the cab look spot on, the extra 100mm in the door and 50mm in the rear corner looks like it'll work well and will be balanced up with the extension of the front end panels. Only thing to think about would be if you're seats will have headrests, the headrest hitting the rear panel in a standard truck cab Land Rover is the thing that stops the seat moving back and inhibits the seatback reclining. As long as you have a level of comfort you're happy with the build looks spot on.👍
The thing that would be a pain is getting in and out and there been a B pillar in the way, aslong as you clear the B pillar getting in and out your fine either way
She's looking awesome mate , little bit hard to imagine how it's going to look with that gap but I reçkon it will be look good . Loving the look of the bigger wheels , can't wait to see the finished product 😎
What is the length of the front guard? Aim for that as your overall length of cab plus door and split the difference. Rear wall looks like it could do with sitting back approximately 50mm further.
I think you are the money with the measurements, just make sure the B pillar isnt affecting your blind spot or peripheral vision, also can you comfortably have your arm on the window sill for cruising
I'd extend the door to keep the B pillar size to a minimum (blind spot) but make sure there's plenty of room on the inside rear wall for inverter and battery management system etc when the seat is fully moved back.
I would recommend that the window frame be behind your shoulder with the seat in the most reward position so it does not block your vision. Looking either right or left.
I’d be thinking about the practical aspect of where your seating position is going to be and how much access to the window both for visual and arm resting will go, don’t want to have to lean forward to see out or have somewhere to rest arm on.
What were the original measurements of the guards and doors. what percentage did you lengthen the guards? Would the new percentage work. But it looks bang on 👌 in the video.
What you put between the door and the rear is going to create a blind spot that you will always need to look around to see out the side so keep in mind what will block your view.
Was that with the seat right back, if so yes it's good, i personally would not extend the doors, just make new skins for them if needed and put a side window in that section, same height as the door glass and around 120mm wide, you could frame it and glue it in flush with a trim strip, or use the rubber with the key strip....it's looking real good though.
I’m thinking the front guard is too far forward or tyre is sitting back to far. Front of tyre to align with the front of the guard. Fix that first then the cab .
From the factory G60 wheel and guard placement its not sitting too far off. Ive moved all body mounts, engine and trans mounts backward on the chassis to rectify this. Any more and i would have major clearance issues with steering box, radiator ect ect.
If it’s a 150mm extension, I would personally go 50/50 and do a 75mm in the door and 75mm in the rear wall. If your about it looking right/somewhat factory, wouldn’t want the door to be too big.
