Excellent advice guys. Ironically I made an impulse buy from another place. I messed up. Called and spoke with Hans last week. He set me straight, I took his advice, ordered the one he recommended from him and could not be happier. Thanks so much Hans. My Thermion is freaking awesome!

Buying a scope based only on the way it looks is something my significant other would do lol. My only problem with “day time” style thermal scopes is the internal battery. They will hold less and less charge over time and will have to be replaced at an extra cost assuming the manufacture still offers the service/parts at the time you need the work done, they seem to discontinue products as fast as they release them these days and most of these products will outlast the warranty. Plus with the way battery tech advances these days, I would hate to buy a scope with an internal then see a new model with twice the run time be released the next year, like what happened with the original Thermions. Battery packs are no exception but will take longer to age vs single cell. I hope they all find a way to make all batteries removable. And on a side note, the used thermal market is not what it used to be, they depreciate significantly, especially these days with all the new companies putting out products left and right. I just sold my Trail to fund a Halo and took a 39% loss on it and not to mention it took almost a year for someone to buy it from me. Anyways that’s my personal thoughts and opinions, never the less, thanks for the tips. I wish I would have know all this instead of starting out with an ATN lol. Be well everyone.

I understand why not to ask other people what they have and/or would recommend. Too many people do NOT want to admit that they made a mistake.

That’s actually a good point. And there’s the confirmation bias of “I don’t want to admit there might have been a better choice so I have the best scope”. Maybe that’s true and maybe it’s not and maybe your my hunting situation is different than yours. Good points Mike.

Not impulse buying will save a ton both in product cost and value. At some point though, you may not be able to buy these, so I'd say get one that is "good enough" for now. I'm waiting for optical zoom and price drops from 1280 release. May just get the Rico mk 1 640 till they get to that level. My old armasight predator is getting long in the tooth and has bad battery life.

I am about to buy the Bering optics A3 . We already have the B.O. Super Hogster and we want 2 of the same to minimize confusion. Its difficult enough to coach a new shooter in the daylight much less in darkness while whispering and trying to be stealthy. Keystone Cops seldom have success ya know.. 2 midrange $ thermals are better than one high end $ thermal. Good winds to all.

We totally agree about having 2 of the same when hunting in the dark and coaching someone. Please give us a shout, we’d sure love to have your business! (877)350-1818

It depends…there are differences and benefits to both. A lot depends on how you’ll use it and if you want any of the extra features of the Micro. Give us a call and we’ll be glad to help. 877-350-1818

You guys need to cash in on the SHTF craze and make a vid of you two talking about your preps and what you think of the situation in this country (watch those algorithms) and what you'd be doing after the collapse in terms of survival, etc. People who've had channels for only a few months are getting hundres of thousands of views. It would be a great way to expand your audience and possibly get more customers. Make the title of the video "Hans and Jason talk about SHTF" and see how many views you get. Just sayin......

Thanks for the suggestion, we appreciate it. We released a show awhile back Ep. 196 on optics for peepers and we definitely have more and more customers who are of the prepper mindset and we’d love to have more!
