I'm with Faye on the betrayal bit. My last 2 exes are friends with their exes and unfortunately I'm now part of the equation. I however set boundaries and don't spend too much unnecessary time with them for 1. My mental health and 2. To avoid being the emotional support for a toxic relationship. After a disagreement occured with the current gf, that was a sign that I'm making the situation complicated. Took time to see this. At the beginning of the ex-friendship, I kept my distance to move on. One of them is out of the picture now and the most recent one is actually a good friend. We should not have dated cuz that's an elephant we must address sometimes. I think some keep exes as friends to slowly get out of the relationship mindset and move on without trauma, or, we tend to rush into romantic relationships yet a platonic one is what is what's most appropriate.

The issue is I am not ready to be vulnerable to a professional but I am beginning to be okay with opening up to people so slowly therapy will be in there. Edit to add: will check with some other ones that are from Malaysia (idk why never thought of that)

I have a theory: Ppl who are in the circles, tend to be stuck in an echo chamber. Because they feed off each other's delulus and cause problems within. Ppl in the long term rs are happy with each other and tend to just be away from it.
