After listening to most parts of podcast here are my comments: 1. He is speaking facts but at some point over-nationalism apprehends. 2. Yes, load-shedding "eradication" is actually a gimmick. Formal routines aren't published but it still exists due to a. Lack of transmission and distribution infrastructure. b. Insufficiency of power. 3. Load-Shedding exists and is still sectorial. 4. It's NOT the Kulman who suddenly shooed the load-shedding from no where. Still if India denies the power, shortages will happen. 5. Yes, utilizing power ourselves first then only exporting surplus power would be beneficial for Nepal but it's theoretical. 6. Practically, sufficiency and trade goes parallel. Interviewer lacked this research. 7. Mr. Shrestha fails to shade light on how shall highly capital intensive projects be built without foreign aid? It's only Tamakoshi that has been built so far which still hasn't got profitable. Arun-3, 900 MW project only has estimated cost of 1.6 billion US$ where Nepal's GDP is 40.83 b USD. Annual budget has only about 18 percent पूँजीगत बजेट annually. So it's impossible to develop only hydropower projects without foreign aid and overlooking health and education for government. 8. Also the projects shall be handed over to Nepal after 30 years so Nepal shall be full owner of the projects and take profit from those projects. 9. Meanwhile, private developers are developing projects that shall meet domestic needs. 10. So it's actually wise to develop projects in Arun 3 model and gain free energy and royalty which otherwise would have been zero while not developed. 11. If donors are foreign, terms and conditions shall never be ours. It's universal. Aid and donations come with conditions. Even when we take loan from a nearby domestic bank, their conditions apply. Public procurement act of Nepal, article 67 (kha) has similar provision. So regarding MCC , statements are more emotional than logical. 12. Finally, the interviewer should have researched a bit more. Yes, things are mostly correct but partly more dark.
I think many people are jealous of Mr.Kulman Ghising what he did which was impossible for this kind of people Nowadays people take it lightly but we suffer alot it was all dark Imagine 18hours of no electricity daily

What about people on those sectors. Sarba aadharan le light balen kura matrai haina ni ?? Gajab ko logic cha baa. And what about nea and high level beaurocrats taking commissions from solar and battery industries? We still remember former ceo of nea mukesh kafle ( not sure about name ) Challenging kulman to go load shedding free during chait baishak in which kulman proved him wrong. I felt like he might be saying some truth but not totally. He sounds biased against kulman and prachand.
I am regular listener of your podcast. Always gives me new information which i can not thank you enough. My suggestion is plz bring Kulman himself on your podcast next so viewers can judge by themselves. In my opinion, whatever the circumstances was, he proved himself to be the right person for the job.

I agree with you that optimal benefit would be to consume electricity by local industry but that is not an issue with electricity generation. If we make conducive environment for local industry then power producers will sell it locally. It’s the industrial development problem not electricity development problem. You can’t say develop generation that is for local consumption without having the demand.

Can’t agree with his statement that citizens should stay in darkness so that industries can be run.. Sushant ji, you should bring two guests on the podcast with opposite views and mediate the conversation. Otherwise, the narrative can be one sided.
Industries are the backbone of country. If citizens have to stay without electricity for few hours then it's okay to provide electricity to industries till we have enough electricity to provide all over country.
