Hi so glad your repairing this car, I love watching your channel I run my own garage and I know how stressful it can be to keep everyone happy, as a garage owner you need a reward for your hard work and with your skills your the best person to be rebuilding this car your honesty the best engine builders I've ever seen it's so hard to find good technicians nowadays I myself enjoy building engine's up and love watching the method's you use, a friend of mine has just purchased a B6 Audi S4 estate and the chain is rattling so we are going to remove the engine and rebuild it. My goodness, what an absolute monster of a power train. Such a unicorn of a car.. It saddens me to see it so neglected by what seems to be a plumber..

Somebody went to a lot of effort to get all that silicone in😮 why on earth would they do that other than put it all back together after partial strip down... to just put in auction. Very dodgy history this one. I hope someone watching knows something about it. Great commitment Thomas. Hope you get it done🤞🤟

Thanks for taking the time to share your journey. I'd love to know just the basic dimensions of that V10 motor - how long/wide/high is the motor. That thing looks like Audi shoe-horned it into the engine bay! Best of luck with the project!

I sure you this Tomas, to free the rings in the bore you could use diesel oil as a suitable solution, probably better than WD40. My punt, once the rings are free the engine will turn over, doesn't mean the crank isn't damaged as there seems to have be a lot of intervention by a bathroom fitter!

That's a real beast of an engine. Will be an incredible car when finished... keep focussing on that end goal!!

Thanks! I made my own 04' C5 allroad into an RS6 clone about 10 years ago. Took me three months and I worked off of jack stands. That project broke me and I bought a two post straight away! This is next level skill though. Happy to watch this and donate what I can. Keep going my dude. I watch this and curse the engineers who came up with this in a way!! Seems overly complicated honestly. ✌

This is going to be my favorite series. Realistically you should have just abandoned this thing if you weren't Youtubing, but it'll make for good content to build it up.

Maybe sacrifice the flex plate the torque convertor is bolted to and then cut / burn the flex plate off? Not pretty but probably the cheapest sacrificial part? Your work ethic is commendable!

Don’t forget this car has been under water so bath room silicone is applicable 😂

Absolutely insane. Audi has no business selling product any longer. Every time i see someone work on a modern Audi it is apparent they intended their cars to end life driven into a tree at 300kph before the warranty is up.

I used a similar white silicon on my lotus 2.2 cam covers, which doesn’t have gaskets. It is a proper automotive gasket sealant, but I accept in this context it isn’t the right thing to use.

The silicone was used in tribute to all the previous owners who financially took a bath on this car.

from today I no longer use car silicones, only construction silicones - primary for toilet... the reason is - ENGINE DRY AS POWDER AFTER 16 YEARS😎

Brake fluid in the Bores. Will loosen it up. Leave it in there for a few days if possible. That is if it is seized as a result of the water ingestion, and not because of a seized rod / main bearing.
