I do exactly the same for the decreases of my sleeves. Though nobody will check my decreases, I decided that I prefer to knit them just one after the other: decrease at the end of the row, knit 2 and decrease at the beginning of the new row.... It's also a tip for not forgetting to make both...I tend to forget the one at the end of the row when doing them at the beginning and at the end.
Great to hear someone does it this way as well! Also great point on it being easier to remember if you do it this way - I would definitely forget if I did it at the beginning and end!
Love your podcast! I’m a little picky about which knitting podcasts I watch. I like that you focus just on knitting. You’re easy to hear and understand. And you go through things quickly enough to keep my interest. I’m interested in Christmas knots and would like to see mitts? Thank you for inspiring me with your beautiful cardigans. I’m hoping to knit up the drizzle cardigan. Yours is gorgeous!
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it 🩷 I'll keep those suggestions in mind as I put together my gift knit list. Good luck on knitting a drizzle cardigan! It was a really fun make
I’ve never considered doing sleeve decreases closer together, rather than at the beginning and the end of a round. I’m so bad about doing 1 decrease and spacing out and skipping the “end of the round” one. I’m going to try your method!
I am new to knitting and just stumbled across your channel and love your color choices. Those white and lavender hiking socks are fantastic. I have my very first pair of socks tutorial that I plan on casting on as soon as my 2nd hat is done! Keep up the awesome work!!
thanks so much for watching! Not sure which tutorial you have, but I used the Tin Can Knits Rye socks for my first ever socks a few years ago and I found it very helpful at the time: blog.tincanknits.com/2013/10/03/socks/. Good luck!
I’ve tried doing the sleeve decreases by both methods and find that making the decreases at the beginning and end of the same row give you a smoother decrease than doing the two decreases next to each other. The jog is more apparent when the decreases are separated by just two stitches.
Oh that's really good to know! I've never compared the two and instinctually I thought putting them together made more sense. But I didn't consider how it might affect the jog. Maybe I need to do a little test so I can see and share the differences!
LOVE your Drizzle Cardigan - the combination of the tweed yarn and the pattern is stunning! You made amazing progress on your cardigan WIP; both your pairs of gift socks look really good and I think your kerchief is so pretty! Love your episodes!
I bought the Champagne Cardigan pattern a while ago, but decided to use the yarn to knit the “It’s Not a Sweatshirt” sweater instead (my first sweater). One of these days I’ll make the champagne!
I don’t think I’ve ever done sleeve decreases to pattern ever 😂. I always do them like you said, as I would for a raglan. Love your podcast but you are very close to the camera.
