Just an fyi, the stock powerglide in my 70 Camaro does indeed have a drain plug on the factory trans pan... it's a column shift glide / 250ci 6cyl base model. Love the series by the way!
Pete, I have used the Chrysler style filters on valve bodies that come with them. On those units I always either use the Chrysler filter that is screen mesh or use the paper and then have the customer change the filter and fluid after a few passes and or heat cycles. I do like the Chrysler filter because it feeds from top and bottom, that said I have never had an issue with the large OEM
Dacron on automatic shifting units. Metal screen on full manual & transbrake units. Dacron works well on a Torqueflite because the pump & pressure regulator system doesn't run as high of pressure as comparable GM platforms.
Thanks! I'm contemplating a Torqueflite rebuild this spring and immediately recognized the Mopar filter. I was interested as I had never heard of the filter being a restriction.
