Wow, awesome advice on the Thermocell and chemicals, as for protecting expensive fly line. Also enjoyed the information in reference to your leaders and tippet. Snag points were another great example of what to watch for. Thank you Dan for another fantastic episode. Greatly appreciated. God bless. Jeff Stone
I always thought fluorocarbon was for nymphing because it was less visible underwater. But the downside was it had a lower breaking strength at the same diameter as mono. Interesting to learn about the sink rate and abrasion resistance compared to mono.
Loving this Dan. Excellent. You should have me on as your pro Podcaster total amateur semi newbie fly angler guest. I would love a segment on knots. Which ones are essential -- the ones you use and why?
Wow very helpful, I didn't know about the 4x and big streamers. I had my dad tie me some streamers but I haven't fished with em yet. I'll pick up some heavier leader's. Those therma cells work amazing! You have an amazing fly collection lot of money in it. Only thing I carry that I didn't see was a mini water filter, some first aid, and fire starter and a Ace bandage might twist my bad knee. Back in the fall here a young guy got lost in the mountains while blue line trout fishing. He built a fire and stayed still, they found his fire with a drone and got him out safe..
Great basic information, fly fish doesn't have to be complicated, like you been fly fishing/tying since 1977,do the math 🤷♂️ I've started using poly leaders & like them so far, like you carry way,way to much stuff,2 things I never leave home with out,is toilet paper & alcohol wipes, cause you never know
