I love podcast/watching videos I listen to podcast eight hours a day even more when I do overtime at work. And you’re a part of the eight hours. Keep the videos coming I’m always learning new and different things. and the best part of your show is the practical part. Being realistic. Thank you for that.

I've had the same thought about those underground shelters and what happens when it rains(I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one). I would think you would need to build on a hill and leave some type of drainage to have a chance of it working. The bottom of the shelter would still need to be above the water line.

I enjoy your practical content. Your ideas inspire me to think about what to take hiking even if I'm not camping in the wilderness. I have a couple of RU-vid channels that I trust for more accurate survival information. They're content is closer to yours. I've learned to prepare a bug out bag to keep in my SUV. I live within a couple of hours of the I-95 fiasco last year when people were left without any help while stuck in a traffic jam for more than a day. I actually grew up near where it happened. I would not likely plan to drive in that type of situation, but you never know what may happen while driving or during a major storm. We normally plan to "hunker down" after a tropical storm or hurricane. But during Isabel in 2003, my family decided to leave our home to go to stay with a relative that had power when we didn't. We had to drive around downed power lines and other dangers to get to our destination. So that's the practical reasons for having a bag and a space in my vehicle. I also have extra supplies at home not a prepper amount, but I buy extra shelf safe food that I keep in hand just in case because we've had power outages in the past that required being prepared.

I know exactly the area on I-95 you’re talking about, and the event you’re talking about. I really spent a lot of time analyzing that situation and thinking about solutions to it if I were to ever find myself in such a situation. Most of the issues seem to have pretty simple solutions, but one that I spent a lot of time thinking about was what to do about bathroom needs if one has to go Number 2. I saw some of the ‘bushcraft’ guys making their recommendations and not one of them seemed very practical or sufficient to me. (Carrying a poop bucket around everywhere with you was a common one. Who has the room for that, and who isn’t going to get tired of carrying a full-sized bucket around all the time and eventually get sick of it being in the way of everything and finally take it out of the vehicle? Furthermore, who has the room to set up a full size bucket within a vehicle, use it as a commode, and at the same time preserve one’s dignity and privacy from other people in the vehicle and from the people in the cars parked all around you?) So I may eventually have to do a video on that subject myself offering better solutions. Anyway, thanks for your comment and for being a subscriber. I appreciate having you along and hearing what you think and have to say on the various topics we talk about here.
