The disrespect towards the monuments is very sad and shameful behaviour. The monuments not only represents people's faith towards gods but also is part of a thousand year old history. Using monuments and temples as gym and exercise spots should be completed prohibited.
Buddhism is purely a reason to be proud of which have been spreading peace to the whole world and it is our duty to preserve it's heritage value and move to new generation and to the world these kind of informations should be taught in the school, most important is to forward to Mr Balen and I am sure he will protect and preserve #Balenshah
During the rule of premier Chandra Shamsher, the general Juddha Shamsher alias was attacked by a virulent disease. He tried his best to treat this disease by consulting witn several experienced doctor and physicians, but none of his symptoms could be cured. Members of his family and even his servants were anxious that the disease be cured as soon as possible. He was uncertain about whether he would survive. In a mean time, as luck would have it, Mr. Kuladhar sakya, a sahu of kohity informed the general that it would be wise to treat the disease through the Drukpa lama Sherab Dorje, uncle of Lopen Tsechu Rinpoche. The lama then directed that a tsog ceremony to performed, dedicated to Swayambu and arya tara. General Juddha shamsher was greatly pleased. It is said that around the total cost of wheat amount to Rs. 781.50 was spend, where 1250000 Tsog was made. In this course of the rite, drops of nectar ( Moti barsa ) rained from the sky of Swayambhu. After the ceremony was complet, General Juddha Shamsher was cured. This historic event took place on the tenth day of the waning half of Falgun in the year 1045.

Sanskrit ma nath 'vaneko' prabhu ho ra swayambhu vaneko 'afai wutapna vayeko', that means "afai wutpna vayeko prabhu". Sanskrit ma chaitya vaneko "Prathna gareko ho" so swayambhunath is the best name that describes that place.

Tyha ko Gods lai Buddhist could incorporate in their religion & make their gods inferior to buddha vanesi they could have done the same here too. Plus Many Hindu kings of the valley gave Patronage to Buddhism and during rana rule not only buddhism but also hinduism suffered.
