Training for the Crown
I Corinthians 9:25 - Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Have you ever spent time in a weight room for a particular sport or just to get into shape? When you are training for something, it's something you usually take very seriously. You workout everyday and stick to a strict regimen. Paul says in I Corinthians that we are like athletes that are training for something very important. We are working toward pleasing God and receiving a crown from Him that is not temporary. How are you training for your spiritual crown? Are you serving God with all of your heart? Are you living your life each day to please Him?
