I’m proud of Matt for being so honest with himself and his self reflection and shane for listening so intently and having empathy at every turn. I’ve had similar trips and it really does make you feel like you did something wrong and you feel so alone and Shane is being very kind about that and it sounds like his brother was too that an important feeling to overcome especially with the help of other people and you’d never believe until you’re in that place how hard it is to find somebody to help you in that way. I mean it’s not impossible there are many good people in most of our lives but it’s interesting how it seems like they’re never around in those moments and maybe that says something about the company we keep and maybe people are like vices that we don’t realize we’re using. I definitely had that realization about the kids I hung out with in highschool. They weren’t bad people but they didn’t have my best interest in mind and I’m going to make sure my son knows the difference when he gets to that age but it’s very important

When I was four at the super market with my mom the first black lady I ever saw I yelled “MOM ITS AUNT JEMIMA” cause the syrup lady was all I knew and tbh she looked just like her. My mom was humiliated and couldn’t apologize enough while yelling at me but the lady just laughed and said it was fine introduced herself to me and gave me a hug. It was sweet. Today a 20 year old white girl would decapitate 4yr old me for being offended for her.

Same dream but I thought my dad hated me because he was a corrections officer I just got home from the marines I thought I spent a life time being restarted because I took a 14 grams of shrooms. That’s the best part about psychedelics to me is the shaving off of neuroses. I remember taking just a dub each time I did shrooms, and the feeling of all that bs being blown away, I could finally feel myself and like myself, and everything I said was funny to my friends, and I just wanted nothing more than this feeling to never stop. But my earthly state isn’t that way.
