Christoffer explains how he works when creating our staging, from drawings to how it looks on stage. And we are testing something BRAND new! Could this be it for the show? Video by Tommy Sagmoen / OffPitch Media :D
So excited to see the live performance!!! I wonder if it is a mistake to wake up at 5 am in Australia to watch... I don't care, I'm going to do it anyway haha. Good luck
I'm pretty nervious for the stage show, not gonna lie. Mostly because I feel like NRK tends to play it pretty safe and not do anything too exciting with staging and camera angles, and this video also plays into some kinda generic "NRK-isms" (surrounded by strings, generic pyro-rain at the finale) that doesn't really enhance the song or give it an individual identity.
The strings are Ulrikke’s own choice. She wants people to focus on the song and lyrics not everything around. There are a lot of strings in the melody so its fitting for the song. Usually the artists themselves comes up with ideas if they have. Is a song good enough you dont need a lot of gimmicks. I agree that NRK usually doesnt change much from MGP to Eurovision and I would have liked them to be a bit more daring and original. The guy who works with staging is the same swedish guy who has worked for MGP for years and years. I wish they could try something else soon. Some younger input fex. This time NRk doesnt have a big budget so pyro is excluded. Dont expect something groundbreaking in the stage shows this year
I don’t need anything crazy, just better camera angles or outfits would be enough. It’s not just a budget thing. Look at something like France’s “Voila”, it’s extremely simple yet effective because of the creative use of lighting and camera angles.
