Such a great interview, Melissa. Definitely answered questions I had in my own mind. The alcohol vs glycerin/vinegar/infusion question has been on my mind because I have a family member who is a recovering addict, and had been pondering the best alternative to alcohol for a tincture. Oddly enough, I am expecting an order from Doc Jones today. He is a treasure! His knowledge and sense of humor make me look forward to hearing whatever wisdom he has to impart ❤
I wish that he would put foraging and identification and drying.tinctures and medicinal uses for humans and animals into a book..i know he has classes and a channel but a book will last.
I have to say. My cucumbers and dill ate not ready at the same time. I will make a lot of dill vinegar (store bought) to have for making pickles. It lasted a couple of years and smelled like dill. I only opened it when I was making pickles.
Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening. Today in my Search " MODERN HOMESTEADING " yours and other sites popped up. May I ask what is meant, per you interpretation of a "Modern Homestead" Unfortunately for Me.. I'm getting Flustered, frustrated when SEEKING A MODERN HOMESTEAD.... Maybe I'm misinterpreting what a Modern Homestead actually is !! P.S.: I Love your Homesteading it's just NOT MODERN
If you have a minute... Someone dropped off about 20 raspberry canes that don't appear dormant yet... Can't find anything online if I should plant now or in the spring... Only tips online are bare root in late fall or potted starts (in the spring).
@@MelissaKNorris that's what I figured .. all I have is a hard compacted, dog trampled (4large dogs), end of August dead sod that's killing my whimpy rototiller... Uhg! The things we do to keep plants alive🙄
I just bought the garden planning book. The only info you didn't include was time to harvest... Also... Producing the planner as a 3 ring binder, or printed sheets for a binder would make it soooo much easier to put the to do items and seed dates in the calendar without having to flip back n forth. Still a very helpful easy to understand planner.
