I'm much older than you guy's but I've been a fan since the Magic played their home opener in '89 against the New Jersey Nets. Man.. I'm old. A fan through the thick and thin. Heck, I even remember signing the petition for an NBA team to move to Orlando. Back then your updates, news and scores were only found in the Orlando Sentinel.
I was at the first preseason game against The Detroit Pistons which we won. I was 23 and it’s been a long magical ride of incredible memories! Go Magic!
I grew up in Orlando and have been a fan since I was 15 in 1989. Been through every inception of this team. O-arena hit completely different. Next level acoustics, for fan noise, the place literally shook. Attended most of the epic games of the 90’s (Nik steal, game 7 ecf 1995) and no games compared. Imagine 15k people dialed in…with no cell phones. This next era is the one…time to break through. Thanks for what you do guys! RIP Pat Williams
@@danielhicks4040 l was at the steal game also, but l think the most intense game was Game 7 against The Pacers in 1995 in the ECF. I was in the upper bowl and l couldn’t even hear my friend talking to me it was so loud and you could feel the second level shaking from the crowd stomping the floor. I was at all the home games this playoffs but Kia never rocked like the O-Rena! Go Magic!
@@louisrosario9522 no I agree completely. My buddy and I were in first row of section 225 and Game 7 of the 1995 ECF was 100% the loudest sporting event I’ve ever attended. The building was literally shaking. Everyone there felt it and talk about it years later
I teared up when you all mentioned about Pat Williams statue being placed in front of Kia with the ping pong ball or at the escalators with his hand out to shake hands with everyone who went to the games. It gave me a reminder of what person I should always strive to be
I remember first listening to your show when it was Jonathan and his friend (sorry man can’t recall your name) and I never realised that that was very early in the sixth man show history! Much love from one of the UK Magic fandom 🇬🇧 🏴
t mac and shaq made me love this team it’s weird cuz im 22 but ive watched the magic for at least 8 years i love watching old film thats how i started to watch this team and teams like the bulls cuz my uncle and dad watched them
Great to hear your story about the O-arena, I remember the cheerleaders always being at the doors giving out programs. I love the Kia Center but the O-Rena was pure magic! From the water fountains outside to the red seats it was just so special! Go Magic!
@@musicAndSports9 shot a 107 at Panther Lake from the green tees which is just about 6400 yards. Pretty solid round for me, short game was awful though. Then my better rounds in 2-man scrambles we shot an 85 & an 82 (I carried pretty hard in both of those rounds). I’m not great but I’m getting better.
