Very nice meeting up with another T42! Must have been fun! Great job getting to SF. Challenging passages often make for the best memories - or at least stories... Sorry you are having problems with your Monitor... So frustrating. They’re great tools. Really like mine. I’m sure you will get it sorted out. Warmer weather ahead!

I know your actual arrival in SF was a while ago now, but I loved seeing your face when you announced your arrival. You have so much to be proud of Kayleen!

Tartan boats are awesome, mine is a 34C and I like it a lot. Of course I wouldn’t mind a 42, cheers

Oh yeah…don’t beat yourself up about not filming during that emergency. From the sounds of the conditions, they needed your complete undivided attention 👏 Well done!

Bummer, missed out on the T42 meet up. Nice to know there's at least 3 of us on the west coast. When was this filmed?

Why is this the first time seeing you guys. It is awesome to see someone with a disability sailing. I was born with a heart defect and my doctor's think I'm nuts that I want to do this. Did you guys get any push back from your physician's when you said you where going to do this? If so how did you handle it?
@AllAboutSpray
@AllAboutSpray Год назад
Not everyone understands but it wasn’t their decision. All of Tyler’s doctors think he’s a bit nuts but probably because he is;) good luck!

Just happened across your channel, just subscribed. I was a sailor over 40 years. Well done , you should be proud of yourselves. Just remember a quick response to an emergency is better than over thinking it. Your personal instincts should kick in when one thinks one should react immediately. Too bad you didn't choose "CapeHorn" windvane , an excellent piece of equipment, and world renowned, also Canadian made.
@AllAboutSpray
@AllAboutSpray Год назад
Well thanks so much for subscribing, it means a lot! I like that the capehorns are Canadian too! Scanmar has been so great to work with though and it was my fault for drilling a crooked hole, it’s been working awesome ever since!

@@AllAboutSpray thanks for the response, and great to hear your windvane is functioning, and your not sailing in circles. Wait!!! The world is round anyways. So not an issue. I just finished watching your Trip with your parents, I believe, to Hawaii. You definitely have sailing behind your belt. Have fun, enjoy. We only go around once. May The Winds Always Be In Your Sails.

@@AllAboutSpray If it interests you,, his around the world single handed Sailing video are interesting. Yves Gelinas is a French-Canadian single-handed sailor and inventor of the Cape Horn wind vane, the simplest, most robust, and most elegant solution for self-steering on an offshore cruising boat. Yves invented and perfected the gear while circumnavigating nonstop via the Great. Yves invented and perfected the gear while circumnavigating nonstop via the Great Capes in his beloved Alberg 30 Jean du Sud in the 80s. During that voyage, he filmed Around the World with Jean du Sud, which quickly came to be considered the greatest sailing movie ever made. Yves still builds the Cape Horn units himself from his workshop in Quebec & still sails Jean du Sud, most recently voyaging to Martinique This was part of a specific story.
