Gurez Valley can be accessed by road from Srinagar. This journey can take about 5 to 6 hours by road (Distance - 140 km). We visited Gurez valley in the month of June, which is the peak season time.
Gurez valley is cut off from the rest of the kashmir during winter time i.e. November to March.
If you wish to know whether Gurez valley is open or not, i.e. you want to know the status of roads, then you can approach TRC in Srinagar.
It is strongly advised that before you visit Gurez , do check beforehand on roads being open for tourism.

Below are the activities / key destinations we visited en route to Srinagar.
Kaka Palace - We started our day from our hotel, where we stayed in Dawar, Gurez. Tariff: Rs 4500 plus tax for double occupancy including breakfast and dinner.
Then we proceeded from our Hotel to visit Bagtore which is around 24 km from Dawar, Gurez. This village is very close to POK.
We went there to see Meadow near this village, you get a very beautiful view of Kishanganga river from the top which further turns into Neelum River when it enters into Pakistan after Taarbal Village.
Kishan Ganga River - It is a major tributary of the west-flowing Jhelum River. This is known as Neelam river in pakistan.
Razdan pass is about 10 km away from Tragbal.
Razdan Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 11,672 ft above sea level in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Tragbal is a breakpoint for tourists to enjoy some light snacks, there are about 8 to 10 eateries at this place.
Then we proceeded to Srinagar
Polo view market - This popular market area located in the heart of the city, speciality of this market, no traffic, one can walk at ease do shopping, during evening, illumination of light at this market add a different charm. We noticed many Kashmiri handicraft shops here.
Jhelumr River front - Just few meters away across the bridge we walked on the Jhelum River Front, which is newly developed & designed in a different way, one can walk, do cycling, you would see many different shapes & lighting on this road.
Mahatta Homestay Srinagar - We ended our journey in Srinagar.
Tariff - Rs 5000 double occupancy. We did this booking through my trip - We paid 10,250 for 2 rooms without dinner but breakfast was included in the package.
