When we left Amsterdam we packed our old life into 10 containers and moved them to Portugal. The containers where filled with our personal stuff, and a collection of our favourite interior items that we had used in our old businesses over the past, or were planning to use in new projects that never happened. As Thijs is the master of tetris he managed to fill up the containers so efficiently that is was impossible to enter or find stuff anymore. Slowly we moved from a total chaos inside the containers to an organized chaos. Bit by bit finding back more of our old stuff and emptying up space. It makes you realize how much excess things you have, but it also feels good to bring back your old memories into a new life. My grandmother always used to say: Wie wat bewaard, die heeft wat. Meaning: "Those who save stuff, have stuff." Which i found out to be very true.
Along the process we will start emptying up more and more containers and transform them into something new. Meanwhile we have already used containers to built a workshop and create a base for the solar system. Other ideas for the future vary from man cave, to war bunker, underground fridge and speakeasy bar. But first things first, we needed a house for my mom. A tiny place where she can retreat from our busy family life and spend some alone time. Therefore we transformed one of the first containers into a beautiful tiny house for her. Our friend Jesse Limmen did a great job into turning this ugly container into a romantic wooden forest cabin. In this episode we will show you more about this process. We hope you like it! If you have good ideas what else we can do with all these containers... drop it in the comments below.
