I love how you show how the historical aspect is the real reason and the excitement for metal detecting. Many people think it is only about finding money or jewelry that can be turned into money. The excitement of digging up an artifact and the connection to the people of the past. It is so much more rewarding than a few dollars.

You are so right! It is such a thrill to think about the history behind things I dig from the ground, who held them, and the time they must have lived in. Hope you enjoy the other videos on the channel, I find some great stuff!

I just love when you can find a bit of local history with writing on it so it can be directly identified!

You're more than welcome, it is well deserved - I enjoy all of the videos on your channel. Just watched your latest video and am super thrilled about that William IV find. I need him for my monarch collection, only missing him in order to have a coin for all monarchs going back to George IV...

Hell of a day boys! Well done. That bird button is a one of a kind for sure. The Electric button is cool too... but love those fancy items more. Especially the sash buckle. I'm pretty sure It's not cracked, it's done on purpose to allow the fabric to go in and out easier. Way to go!! P.s Thanks for the shout out! Keep it up. pps. We've subbed to all the other channels you also mentioned.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out the video! I agree that that the open worked buckle likely had those gaps in the ends intentionally. I'm so glad you checked out the other creators I linked, they do such great work. Cheers!

Great videos. Just got my first and only crotal bell 1 month ago too. Cleaned it up and it sounds great. I picked up metal detecting during the pandemic too. In southwest Ontario so the age of my finds are similar.

Thanks for the kind words, and congrats on your first crotal bell ! I often find pieces of crotal bells but have only ever found 1 complete one - a tiny size 0. Hope you enjoy the other videos on the channel.

I once found like 9 sleighbells in 1 outing, they must have been all from the same leather strap of bells...

Hi😀great finds, great history, the buckles are so nice and some are horse tac buckles and also possibly from satchels that fell off. The one with the slits openings either side would have been a ladies buckle/shawl clasp, the slits held the clasp onto smooth fabric so it wouldn’t slip off easily😀… but it did😀🫵found it. Thanks for the shout out🙏🇦🇺Brun

I'm in Ontario Canada. In my experience there is old stuff to be found pretty much anywhere, just have to keep at it and the old stuff will come.
