You take me back to a time when my father purchased a Squareback in British racing green in '66. It was a dealer demo and we put that thang thru it's paces going to Fla. twice from Detroit. Didn't have the hiway gears so it struggled fully laden thru the Appalachians in 2nd gear mostly. Lots of detours too. We used it hard but gave it up after the 3rd year. Your project brings back memories.
Nice work Brother. I can send you a plane ticket anytime you want to come to Florida and work on my race car. You are an excellent mechanic very good at attention to detail.
Dude, I was just talking to my brother about this. Did you chop off the ones off your Type 3 tubes and welded onto the Type 1’s or did you just custom fabricate your own and welded onto the tubes? Also, before you did this, did you notice any significant difference when not using the Z-bar?
@@jeremydocI found a second set of the type 3 axle tubes and cut off the z bar guides as I wanted to keep my original set as spares, then welded on the new while the tubes were still attached to the box. My car is still in resto so I haven’t driven it yet.
