Not every trip is perfect. Even while being socked In by Oregon's weather... we tried to make the best of it. Would you have stayed at Seal Rock like we did?
Well Mark, once again you captured our adventure perfectly. It’s all woven together so well, the music, the photos and the story you’re telling takes me back. Fantastic job my friend.
Some very striking images again Mark. The way you captured your story there is easy to follow along, showing the atmosphere, some back stories, beautiful poetry and making the most out of what you got even if it wasn’t as you hoped. I’ve been appreciating moody and the lack of sunsets recently 😂 Enjoyed following along. Hope to be able to visit the places you showcase someday.
Oh man, I couldn't believe how ever-present it was. We were constantly observing it, it's like it never goes away and seems to thicken as sunset nears. Are you from Oregon?
Yup - I'm in Portland. It's pretty common for the marine layer to be out there - or along the shore. I've seen days in August where it's blown right to the shore and it evaporates about 100 ft inland from the beach - all day long. I've tried many times for shots with the sun setting along the horizon (like for the green flash) only to have it blocked by a marine layer that's 5 or 10 miles out, but you can't even see it is there since the sun is so bright.
