Love this lesson from Pierre!! I don’t know why I didn’t find this channel until now. I must have been “bad lucky”. It is so wonderful to find a family that speaks franglais Just comme chez nous. And your baby has four leg, comme nos chats. Also, it’s been fun to watch you learn how to do the videos. You’ve gotten great at these. But most of all I love that you sail!!! Above all you three are about having the sails up! Thank you!
Thank you for a very informative and safe message I have just replaced all of my shore power hook up boxes with new electric pedestals called light tower beautifully designed out of fiberglass with a safe ground Dean connection to prevent shocking and notices to remind all to shut off the breaker before connecting there sure power we seem to be on the same page thank you Lisa merry Christmas to you and Pierre a happy new year hope to see you both again
Excellent is the distribution diagram available somewhere- I feel your pain had shoulder arthroscopic surgery 3 weeks ago living in a sling 24-7 for 5 weeks
Hi .... just watched this video (still trying to catch up). Very interesting. I had not heard of electrical shock drowning - until now that is. I have a question for which I will send a private email. Nice place to shoot part of the video (the Otonabee River) - despite the circumstances. At the 14 minute mark the rest of the video is shot at the New England Boat Works, R. I. - i assume that is where your boat was hauled out for the winter. I do hope that fellow with the heat shrink torch does not miss a step on that ladder ! Take care ...
Video footage of dock was in NEB , RI and Charlestown marina Boston - taken before we spent a month in Ontario. Videos were made during out 14 day quarantine!
Nice edit. I’m still amazed that in the world we live in we always find ways to complicate it. In this case electricity why the world did not all agree to run on 3 phase 220/230v and use the same plugs makes life more complicated with traveling. The mobile world is seeing this now with even Apple conceding and going the new USB C route. Remember the days when every cell phone and computer had a different charge socket ? A single agreed standard worldwide to electricity would go a long way in making things simpler.
Wow- an amazing amount of great information. Thanks! Quick question: if you are at a marina plugged in for many weeks using a lot of power does this mean your batteries are cycling more since you are using them as a conduit for the power?
Thanks for the comment. You will see in our sailing videos, I am not the installing equipment or fixing things. I only realized it was isolation and not insolation through editing!
Its a much better idea not to go swimming at the boat dock , Its normally a ( NO SWIM ZONE ) anyway. I would never take the chance and let my kids swim around the dock and boats , that's just asking for trouble don't you think ??? there's better area's for swimming ! I am only stressing the fact that swimming in the marina around the boats is normally not allowed and should not do it anyway !
