E66 Weekly Vlog of Life in a Nutshell sailing travels.
Our first night on Nutshell!
There is so much cleaning and sorting to do but we get into it. We find many interesting and useful things on Nutshell.
Magnus makes a start of the many jobs which need to be done and manages to tick things off the to do list. He attempts to start the engine, but it needs plenty of work. It’s a very busy time.
We watch the ships pass close by on their way to the Panama Canal. It’s all a bit surreal.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing this adventure with us.
Magnus and Wendy

Hi Magnus and Wendy - to be honest I could watch this for hours. Sometimes it is worth bulk ordering things like fuel filters reduces shipping costs, careful with the fan belts they need to be wrapped up and kept in the dark to preserve the rubber component. Really impressed with the progress - exciting stuff.👍

I admire you both so much. You're willing to graft in order to achieve. Few people have this kind of life fall into their laps and if they do, most times, they don't appreciate it. When you've had to work for it, the pleasure you get is tenfold. Good on ya, Nutters! Wishing you fair winds. x

Personally I think the reason you are finding all the small parts in groups of ten would be ....... the ocean is a big place with few part stores. ...... can you imagine how far you could travel with only one broken fan belt, and no wind? .... I would say the same for the gaskets, and impellers etc. ...... better to have more than enough rather than not enough when they are needed. (though 10 would seem to be a bit of overkill) ....LOL@me

Could that blue spiky thing be a mat that you attach lines to and pull back and forth under the boat to get rid of growth on the hull when the antifouling paint loses its efficacy? Looks as if it would do the job to me, if it's sturdy enough of course. Might be worth a try when you're anchored in a remote tropical atoll lagoon. :-)
