The last and final day of Cedros Island 2021 fishing!
Was able to pick off a limit of yellowtail for the last day.
I will say, as special as this week at Cedros was, it doesn't even come close to how epic 2022 was! Going to get started on editing the new Cedros videos ASAP. So much footage to sort through, but I hope you are all ready for the wildest week of Run & Gun yellowtail fishing I have ever seen!

You should go out on a bft trip I was able to get a few 50pounders on stick bait. Some people were getting bit on poppers

That’s awesome bro hell yeah! I still have yet to get a bft on a casting bait. Everytime I’ve ever fished them, it’s always been slow pickings the whole trip. Still never seen a bft foamer

I’ve been using the Steel Baits clamp over the last 2 seasons. He makes them in very limited batches unfortunately though. Not sure when his next drop for clamps will be

What kind of reel clamp is that? looking for one for my Jig stick so I won't crush my rod.

This is the steel baits reel clamp, and it’s definitely my favorite out of all the ones I’ve used over the years. But he sales in very limited batches. Next best that I’ve liked is a clamp kit with a cork puppy. Just gotta grind down the tabs on the cork puppy

Hell yeah! I just got back 2 days ago, run and gun surface iron fishing all but 1 morning. Limits by 7:00 am for most boats. The only day it wasn’t wide open, was when a lot of red crab showed up. Kept the yellowtail down deep, and yoyo was getting them.

My fav rot set up is a Torium on a 9ft axis rod. I caught a some 50 plus pound bft on a colt sniper. The axis deck band rods have to be my favorite rod of all time

The axis rods really are super nice rods! I love mine, paired up with a torium or a saltist. Killer set up

Did you guys go to San Benitos? It’s a longer drive for massive Calicos but they are doing well at Cedros on them.

Just got back from cedros 2 days ago. No, we didn’t fish Benito’s. Stuck around cedros the whole time, there is A LOT of yellowtail to be caught out there this year! Averaged about 10-15 yellowtail each per day

@@Dirty.Hookers that’s what I have heard!!!! We caught a ton of YT on our last trip on the Excel… not sure I have much room for more fish… unless I get another freezer which I think I may have to do…..glad you guys had a great time … so cool you fish with your pops.

@@Dirty.Hookers question: are the YT braid-line sensitive? Any issue of tying fluro on to braid on my Lexa-400s? I don’t want to strip of my Max Quattro for the sake of adding mono - I like using the Lexa to throw soft baits and surface irons as well as my other jig rod setups that I will bring….

@@michaelniemiec5235 you’re fine with braid to a short 4’ - 6’ leader. I run all my 300’s and 400’s with braid all the way filled to the top and just add a short leader

It’s a panga. They’re mainly only found in Mexico, but I do know there’s a handful of them for sell in California

Yeah definitely good to see soon good yellowtail fishing again! The bft fishing is cool, but it’s not as fun as YT fishing in my opinion. I was really missing yellowtail fishing a lot last year
