@@cheepymcpeepy Oh I do agree with you, she should just stay where she is so she can have way more control and basically be her own boss. I’m more so shocked no one has offered her a series on Netflix. That was all. Hope you have a great night/day wherever you are and stay safe.
You know Bailey making mad money because she be getting sponsored left and right ! It’s fitting because she’s extremly unproblematic and she doesn’t have to be crude to be funny . I’m so glad I discovered this woman
Re: sponsors left and right: There's this podcast called Distractible. They have 1 - 3 sponsor segments each episode, each segment with 3 - 6 sponsors each, without repeats. And I'm like: "Why are companies pouncing on a podcast of 3 dudes with ADHD spewing mostly unfiltered comedy?"
TOPIC SUGGESTIONS: The Diné (Navajo) children being taken from their families and forced into US Gov't boarding schools where they were not allowed to speak their native language, live their culture, or see their families (this was happening until only about 50 years ago); and the Japanese internment camps run by the US during World War II. They are both along the same lines of some sad, dark history of the US. How does that saying go: what we don't learn from history we are doomed to repeat. I think that especially applies to the bad choices! Loving these podcasts so much! ♥ Keep up the awesome work!
How has Netflix not offered Bailey a show?! Like hello you can watch her while you’re cleaning, doing makeup, with friends and family, sleeping, an alarm! Like hello I’d soooo watch it
You should talk about the horrors that occurred in factories during the industrial revolution and how it was a turning point in the concept of work-life balance, eventually leading to the current toxicity of grind culture, which has been normalized
The industrial revolution is apparently where the “8 hours of sleep per night” schedule came from too! And how much the sleep industry is worth due to humans not really meant to sleep that way apparently. I’m probably getting some of this wrong but that would all be an interesting topic for Bailey.
Reading the FLSA of 1938 and comparing it to how we regard (or disregard) minimum wage and child labor today is enough to make you want to pull your hair out. Only the top tier can afford to protect their children from this government.
@@maryssa8593 especially since many have sleep issues just as Bailey does sometimes. Delayed Sleep Phase people fighting against a 'normal' time clock put in place so many years ago.
This is a great idea. The Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire would be a perfect example of the horrible conditions people endured and the lack of safety regulations during that time.
I love how the background decor has gone from like, 'some LED candles to be spooky' to full on 'We raided an antique shop and also hired Christine McConnell to help us choose wallpaper'. GREAT taste this woman has.
And while she makes it extremely entertaining, fun and interesting, a boatload of research, planning and prep goes into every one of her episodes. Thank you, Bailey. You ROCK!
So as a recovering addict I didn't know if I could sit thru this video. It has been 2 amd 1/2 years now . Absolutely enjoyed and no triggers thru this video. Love ur videos
Bailey if there more teachers like you, we'd have ALOT more honor students!! You make history so interesting and fun while keeping your audience engaged and wanting more!!
@@artwithasparkle1691 yeah 🙁 me&my bf both. Pepsi has another taste, idk how to explain. I don't love plain pepsi though, I like Pepsi Twist, the one with lemon in it. 👀
Except Pepsi wasnt created until 1965. So no, thats not why people tend to choose coke. I dont know actually writes these podcasts (the last episode was the first time they Bailey had writing credits), but they tend to be misleading. Leaving out or barely touching on important context in these stories.
Everything about this podcast is perfect. Bailey needs her own Netflix series or Amazon or HBO or something! Someone please pick her up. She's perfect!!
Talk to almost any old crew person who has been working in LA since the 70s, and they have stories of the coke table next to craftie that anyone could just go take a bump/line if they got too tired. It's wild.
I was an addict for many years been clean 10 years all off my own back , there was no funding for a rehab - prison was my rehab - got clean for the third time in three times in jail and third time lucky!!
I absolutely hate that this video had so many thumbs down, but Bailey I'm so incredibly proud of you for speaking out against the racial injustice in this country. The people who dislike this video are a part of the problem. Keep speaking up cause I've never been more proud of you and I'm a die hard fan (I just don't comment until now). You just gained a million more respect than I already had for you.
Wondering if this Canadian dark History would be a story you’d be interested in doing? There were 150,000 first nation’s, Inuit and Métis children that attended 139 residential schools in Canada. In the last few months over 5,000 children’s bodies have been discovered. Probably thousands more left to be found. The last school in Canada didn’t close until 1996.
I’m over here in Italy and I’ve heard about this story! It’s nuts! Poor kids. I also red a lot about how some indigenous kids were stripped from their families and readopted. Poor little ones.. Edit grammar
Same thing in the US, they had "boarding schools" and made the kids change their name, learn Christianity, and couldn't speak their native languages. They did the same thing very recently in Hawaii, but not they pay them to perform for the White vacationers 😔 native people really get treated like garbage
@@lynnweishaupt2461 my last visit 4 years ago to the Main Island, the natives were not friendly and I gave them a wide berth, with much respect, I could have imagined it but I think they acknowledged/appreciated it. They are NOT used to it.
It boggles my mind the amount of money the US spends to incarcerate addicts when rehabilitation and education is cheaper and would save so much money in the long run. Nevermind all the children that are abused and neglected due to addicted parents.
And we can add in the for-profit prisons into the equation to muck up anything else potentially worthwhile. Those companies have the ears of Congress-just like the NRA and they’re certainly not about to let a little thing like research-based efficacy get in the way of their profits.
In the parking lot of Popeyes and just saw someone wearing your dark history shirt. I screamed at the top of my lungs. Scaring my little sister, cause I was so happy to find another bailey sarian lover.
Hello Bailey! I’d love to hear a dark history in the overthrow of Hawaii. There’s so much dark dark history that comes with how the United States forced the queen to give up her sovereign nation. And how native Hawaiians the culture and race were being pushed to extinction. This has been a problem for so long and people mainly see the state as a vacay hot spot, they’re desecrating scared lands, and tourists mysteriously die or go missing when they cross sacred grounds. There’s sacred waterfalls that were used for sacrifices where mysterious deaths happen in them as well. I hope you see this Bailey!! 🖤🖤
Yes! I just learned from another account that Hawaii isn’t really state (or at least didn’t want to be) and should really be it’s own nation. Crazy bc that’s so not what we learned in school.
This is exactly why I get down with Bailey. I opened this video wondering if she was going to talk about all the BS surrounding both substances (or substance really) and I was not disappointed. Now we just gotta dig deep into the Tuskegee Study.
I could have SWORN she covered that somewhere along the line, but I can't find it. Not sure if I dreamed that, but would love to see it added to the Dark History lineup.
I was just talking to my bf about this,in a really dark time in my life u literally saved my life ,when I found you I’d watch your videos every night it helped me fall asleep hearing people getting justice for there wrong doings and the things lots of ppl did to try to help and save these ppl once I caught up I looked forward to waiting to listen every Monday it help me get thru the worst day of the week.
Awesome job on this one. Former CDP here.(Chemical dependancy counselor). I've seen college instructors not nearly as informative, and most certainly not as entertaining. Thanks!!
“So if you’re going to put one in your trousers, pick the powder.” 😉 Love your sarcastic humor 😍 I wish my history teachers had taught history like you!! Oh I would have loved history in my younger years!!
HOLY COW, I was just looking @Bailey's about page, & she has more than half-a-BILLION views!!! Congratulations, Bailey! I've been watching you for 5+yrs., & I'm so proud of you & happy that your work is being appreciated by so many😘
Baileys story telling I just love. And after my dog passed away I have found it hard to fall asleep, turns out my dog snoring was my white noise machine. So now the only way I can drift off is to just listen to Bailey tell her stories until I drift off, I find her voice soothing and love the stories two for one.
Bailey: says "Manditory minimum sentences" My brain: THEYRE TRYING TO BUILD A PRISON, THEYRE TRYING TO BUILD A PRISON, THEYRE TRYING TO BUILD A PRISON, FOR YOU AND ME TO LIVE IN
Bailey I hope you see this I love your podcasts they give me something long and interesting to listen to while cooking or cleaning around the house love ya
Love it. Bailey you've mentioned fearmongering as politics, you should do one on Edward Bernays, Freud's nephew who took his uncle's work and used it in ways that even creeped Sigmund out. He invented PR for politics and commerce in one fell swoop. There's an excellent amd surprisingly honest BBC/Adam Curtis documentary series about it called 'Century of the Self'.
THE BEST EPISODE....SO FAR Bailey!!! How unjust your American system is!!!. I had to watch the video several times, in order to absorb all the information. VERY illuminating and VERY sad.
This was your best episode yet!!! You seem like you’re really hitting your stride and this is suuuch an important topic to cover in an easy to digest way ☺️
It's my one year anniversary of sobriety today n I happened to come across this video...I appreciate your way of explaining all of this without glamorizing... I've gotten allot of my makeup routines from your MM&M videos as well😊😊
Bailey has been dropping logic in the form of red pills with these dark history episodes and I'm here for it! Humans, collectively, are waking up to some hard truths lately and this subject, like the others she has covered, is just another cog in that wheel of lies we were all brainwashed into believing thanks to the media and elites who do not care about any of us. Keep them coming, sister!
You could put the Insanity around vaccines in that list too. I wish she'd do the dark history in regards to THAT and the entire big pHARMa system... She won't though.
@@katiehenry7 even if she did, it would be removed in seconds flat. YT are the gatekeepers. Deleting, demonetizing, shadow banning. They're desperate to control the narrative and obfuscate the truth.
It's not just LA!! I live in a SMALL town and I used to party with the lawyers, DA's and judges when I was 18 and there were white weddings everywhere! 😂😭
Absolutely -- I work in a hospital and we assist in the physical recovery of COVID patients early on. I have never known such stress--but Bailey has helped me escape and enjoy some time to myself. Bailey you are so loved!
Bailey, I love your pivot toward public policy and cultural commentary within the frame of justice. I think that's what missing from so many true crime filters, a broader understanding of the external/political/sociological factors at play. You're awesome.
For some reason, I was hoping you mentioned the show Snowfall 😭 It seems that America just runs off of money and racism. But so glad this history is out, giving us something the school system just fails to do.
could you do the dark history of the criminal justice system in general? like mass incarceration or the death penalty since it is so linked to your true crime series as well ?
I love mystery and makeup Mondays but I have to say that I love this podcast even more. Nothing but pure truth and facts that people REALLY need to know.
@@brendagarnder9758 that's her hair she has long dark brown hair she has hair stylist she had it on her story once and s makeup person if she doesn't want to do he makeup
Closest I have come to either is drinking coca tea in Peru for altitude sickness. I brought some home because I always take all the tea bags from any hotel room I stay in and it didn't occur to me until after I got home that maybe bringing coca leaves back was a bad idea. 😅 It was fine though. I didn't get busted. 🤣
