In the summer heat of Central Portugal, building a pool became a big priority.
And this big priority led to building a big pool. In this episode we will take you through our process of designing and building the pool. All of the ideas grow organically and we came up with a lot of creative solutions along the way.
We ended up with a whale shaped pool of approximately 20 x 10 meters. We build it on top of the rock, creating room for chill booths and sleeping pods underneath. Around we created a little artificial beach where children and grown ups can play. On one the side of the pool is a little outside gym, and on the other side we are planning to extend the poolside with a nice wooden yoga deck where you can catch the morning and evening sun.
The pool was the first construction that was finished in our village and we never regretted this planning for a moment.
