Von & those other killers were trying to get at each other. If he was a serial killer then all the people he got at were also serial killers. They all had several bodies on them. They were in some game. Serial killers kill random vulnerable people simply for the joy of it. Von wasn't doing that. He & the rest of them killers knew all the people they were getting at.

Whichever way we look at it is our perception we just gotta understand that this Universe has laws to it!!!
