Wonderful cruise, and spectacular geology along the way. To your dear dad, please rest in peace and know that your son is so generous in making these trips available to us. Peace and fair winds, from Japan.
Just to let you know I enjoy your videos. Particularly liked the intrepid SCAMP tour of Bruny Island. Scamps are awesome; love my Clare (scamp #407) which I sail on inland lakes eg Lake Burly Griffen and Googong Dam.
I might sound like a fishing tragic - but love the old Daiwa GS9 reel on the back of the boat. My father had one and survived a lot of use for @45 years
Hi thanks for sharing your adventures. I’m also interested in the compac 21. Are they relatively easy to single hand. What type of ballast and keel setup do they have. Thanks
Great trip, Elixir looks to be in immaculate condition, is it a 16 or 18? Sorry to hear about your dad, I am sure he is still watching your adventures. J
Another great trip and video Mat. Your Dad would be very happy I'm sure with your current ventures. Just curious, was there an earlier version of this on a different channel? Seems very familiar.
Hey Chris. Yes, I had a channel a few years ago but deleted everything when dad passed. Jo helped me get the 'mojo' back to try all this again. Glad you enjoy our videos. Stay salty, Mat
Thanks for your comment. Com-Pac build excellent boats. The finish is as good as anything. The mast-ender system works well. The Eclipse sails ok. She’s not fast, but stiff and relatively dry - a good family weekend cruiser. The open transom is my favourite feature. There’s not many 21’ boats I’d trade Elixir for. We love her.
@@SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx thanks for that info Mat. They certainly look well-designed and finished. Did you buy new/second hand? What would I need to budget for new/secondhand? Peter
