The Electric Playground begins! It's September 1997 and a brand new series built to take viewers behind the scenes of the video game industry launches. The first episode is a showcase of the Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3). During EP's first segment, Tommy Tallarico, Victor Lucas and Kelly Benson catch up with some of the acclaimed game creators in attendance. Be on the lookout for quick chats with:

After our quick trip through E3's past and present (1995-1997), EP stops at Nintendo's E3 '97 booth for a conversation with legendary game maker, Shigeru Miyamoto.
Following our stops at E3, EP hits the road to Bothell, Washington to meet up with acclaimed adventure game maker, Ron Gilbert, who welcomes us is for a visit with Cavedog Entertainment and an interview with the creator of the hit RTS, Total Annihilation, Chris Taylor. Composer, Jeremy Soulé also tells us about creating the music for the game.
After the break, EP kicks into high adventure mode. Tommy visits Namco to chat with Mike Fischer about three new PlayStation games; the aerial dogfights of Ace Combat 2; the undersea action of Treasures of the Deep; and the dangerous thrills of Time Crisis.
Also, back at E3, Tommy chats with José Villeta from Black Ops about creating Treasures of the Deep.
When EP picks up after a short break, Heat.Net's "The Reverend," has a list of some great PC games to check out.
And in our Question of the Week segment, Ion Storm's John Romero is asked if he has a hero in the video game industry.
