Thank you so much for this korero! Im studying Counselling at AUT South campus and it has a huge emphasis on Te Ao Maori and holistic/indigenous values... Hopefully there will be more people coming through this kaupapa over the years. Its an amazing course (Bachelor of Health Science, Counselling major) for anyone interested. It might not have the same accolades as clinical psychology but the wairua is there. Kia Ora!

Kia ora, mihi nui. I loved your korero. Institutional colonisation in all areas of our society. Why do we as Māori have to keep adhering to those ways? Im glad that there is more and more research being done about how our own Māori knowledge is better for us than Western culture ways.

Mean topic to address e hoa 🙌🏽 āe, kāore te kumara e kī ana i tōnā ake reka... but everybody says how sweet the kumara is. We gotta pump each other up! Māori have taken on some of the Pākehā masculinity. I'd say we need to redefine what being a man (Māori too) means.

It's honestly a beautiful read, and would make an even better kaupapa to discuss on your taumata.
