VLOG part 3 of 3 of our weekend trip to Stamford. It's a beautiful Georgian town perfect to explore by foot and just wander around.
What to do in Stamford? These are the places we stayed/visted:
1. No.1 Guest House
We stayed for 1 night on a Saturday. The room was nicely decorated and check-in was easy. They give you a pin for a keybox at the main door door and your room number. You let yourself in, locate your room key and look for your room.
Check-in is from 3pm and we arrived around 3:30pm and all 5 onsite parking spaces were already occupied. We had to call the "helpline" provided in the room to get advice on where to park because the street parking was restricted.
They advised you can park on Vine Street (and other surrounding streets) for a maximum of 2 hours during 8am - 6pm (Mon - Sun). So if you arrive at 4pm you can effectively park until 10am after which you will have to move your car not great if we were staying more than 1 night or wanted to explore the town the next morning by foot). See #3 below for Sunday parking tip.
The guest house a really conveniently located for the town centre.

3. Sunday Parking (on Broad Street)
On the Saturday night we spotted that one of the roads near the guest house has unrestricted parking all day on Sunday.
If you look for location of the The Lord Burghley pub (17 Broad St, Stamford PE9 1PG) this should take you there.
All the other streets in the town centre seemed to have restrictions all week.
4. Central Cafe and Tearooms
Lovely breakfast options with air conditioning inside (much appreciated in 30+ degree C).

5. Burghley House
A beautiful building with gardens, cafe and huge grounds to walk around. We didn't go in because it's not really our thing but the grounds were lovely to walk around.

6. Stamford Cider Huts
This was the part of the entire trip I was most looking forward to. Having seen the pictures online and the wonderful reviews I had high hopes. I'd never stayed in anything like this before and I was super excited.
The hut was everything I hoped it would be. The inside was beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful details and the orchard was so peaceful and the perfect place to relax and unwind.
There's a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows of chestnuts, a treasure hunt in the hut, a swing under a big oak treet and even a tandem you can borrow. We only managed to use the swing so hope to return to try the others!
P.S My appologies for the ridiculous number of times I used "cute" in the video... I really need to expand my vocabulary!
